Podcast Cruise 6.0!!! Official Info

Now all I have to do is get my grand daughter a new passport, since hers expired when she turned 18...trying to get the time set up with her is not easy.....with her busy schedule (lol)

To renew your passport, you can fill out the form online, take your photo with your iPhone or other digital camera (use a plain background), then crop it to 2" x 2", print that out, fill out a check and send it to the state department. Easy peasy.

Morning Everyone ! Just for fun, we are down to 312 days before sailing. Now that the cruise is "this" year, my daughter is much better with talking about the cruise. She was excited when I told her I got our rooms changed...we really wanted connecting cabins and Tracey, our wonderful agent was able to make it happen. Now all I have to do is get my grand daughter a new passport, since hers expired when she turned 18...trying to get the time set up with her is not easy.....with her busy schedule (lol)

I have been wondering...since it looks like we can't do the fish extender (like on Disney ships) is there anything else that we can all set up to do as a group? Does anyone know?

Have a great day.
Passports don't automatically expire at age 18. They are good for 5 years for children under age 16, and 10 years for those 16 and older at the time they were issued.

I haven't been on the boards much but listen to the podcasts regularly. My husband and I are booked and I am slowly paying it off. Since we are finally in the actual year, I feel I can start to really get excited. I want to start checking here more often so I will be aware of special doings especially anything pre- or post-cruise. I am looking forward to spending a whole week with other DIS crazy folks.

I know it's early, but our plans of arrival for the cruise have changed and now I need to get some information. We were going to drive because my son in law hates to fly. I booked the cruise and am in charge of excursions and other activities. My son in law was in charge of renting a van for the trip (since none of our cars are big enough to handle 4 people and luggage). Now, it turns out, he will be off work the Saturday before and must be back to work on Monday (the rest of us are taking Monday off). For me, driving is going to be an issue, since we would have to drive all night Saturday to get there and that means we would all be tired and crabby the first day of the cruise....once we dock, we probably won't get back on the road until 9am or so, which would put us home at midnight, and then he has to get up at 5 for work. So, he said, even though I don't like to fly, lets consider it. Ok fine. Now, it's up to me to find flights and figure out where to stay on Saturday.

Sorry, this might turn out to be a long post.

Here are my options: Stay at a Disney hotel, where we can take Magical Express from MCO. Then the next morning, take a taxi to the Swan or Dolphin to catch the bus provided by Dreams to the port.

Or, get rooms for Saturday at the Swan/Dolphin (since Dreams usually gets good room rates for us). This option is the one I'm leaning toward, but the question now is, what is the best way to get from MCO to the hotel? I looked at the rates for FL Tours, Yellow Cab and a few others. Yellow cab has the best price so far....does anyone know any others that have good rates, or any ones to stay away from? I know renting a car for the day is also an option, but not one I want.

So, if anyone has information that can help me, it would be appreciated. Oh, and just for fun...we are under 300 days....299 to be exact. Have a great day everyone.

Although Dreams has not yet stated they will have a bus to the port they have done so for the previous podcast cruises. With that said the past few cruises the "Dreams Cruise Bus" has picked up people at various on-site properties so if your concern is getting on the Cruise Bus I don't think you have to limit yourself to just the Swan/Dolphin.

Hope that gives you a little bit of food for thought.

It's a great day to be alive.

Somewhere, I have a video of all of us on the bus headed to the port for one of the cruises (or maybe two or three different cruises).

FYI - I do not think this was mentioned before but due to a raise in gratuity prices, I've been advised that $84.00 pr person has been added to all our invoices to pre-pay for gratuities. This will lock in our gratuity prices at the lower rate.

Keep in mind that you can always adjust your tips for poor or excellent service.

If you chose My Time Dining, the gratuities have already been added to your invoice.

I was wanting to book a few pre-nights at a Disney resort...
Questions...
Has Dreams Unlimited offered specials for pre nights on previous cruises?
If I book directly with Disney, will I have a problem utilizing a transfer to the port if one is offered by Dreams?

In the past, Dreams has offered pre (and post) cruise nights for a good price, but typically at the Swolphin. They have also offered transfers from some of the Disney Resorts but we don't know how this might work this year. Despite this being the sixth Pod Cast Cruise, they still make changes to the arrangements. So, stay tuned.

@myminnieme

We've booked 4 nights/5 days at Bay Lake Tower Post Cruise. I spoke with Tracy the other day, and she said they haven't yet decided on whether or not their transfers will be available. She said they'll decide closer to the sail date, so I'd keep checking in periodically. Hope this helps anyone :).

So how many of you are planning a pre-cruise Disney stay and how many are planning a post-cruise stay?

We will need to do Disney pre-cruise as our DD will be finishing the semester and coming home for winter break right after we get home from the cruise.

Like I said above, my family and I will be staying from December 11th-15th at Bay Lake Tower for a Post Cruise stay. The reason we chose afterwards is because we live in NY, and didn't want to have to go right back to the airport and fly right home. All that travel can be taxing. Even though we will be on a relaxing cruise! haha. It'll be My mom, dad, boyfriend, and I :).
