☆☆ The Official October 2016 Thread ☆☆

Just booked!! October 16-22 at AoA in a Little Mermaid room! We did CSR on our last trip, so we're excited to try out a new resort.

Just booked too 2 to 8 October. Ready for my third halloween party. Really like this time of year. FQ for me.

Booked today at Pop! After really digging into the math it seems that staying on site will be the best use of our money and time. Now hopefully I'll stop annoying my travel companions. They are getting tired of hearing me debate pros and cons of all the choices. Lol!

It's starting to become a dream vacation for me. I've always wanted to stay at a Disney resort, and I decided to make the leap and fly first class. Plus we'll be there for almost two weeks! We will be throwing in some Universal days and my cousin's wedding.

Does anyone have any tips for traveling at this time of year? I hear that it's off peak so it may be less crowded, but then I hear that it's been more crowded. Wondering if anyone here has experience with this season.

October has definitely gotten busier in recent years, but it's still one of my favorite times to visit. Food & Wine at Epcot is awesome (just avoid the weekends, as it gets much more crowded with locals). Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (a hard ticket event at Magic Kingdom) is also lots of fun, but also causes MK to close early several nights during the week (historically the party had been held on Sun, Tues, Thurs and Fri during Oct - the 2016 schedule should be out soon), so just be aware that the off nights will be very crowded at MK. You'll love staying onsite - have a great trip!!

Thanks for the great tips! Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the Food & Wine was only over a specific weekend.

I have two more questions. If you've already booked, and then the dining plan promotion comes out, would you need to rebook, and is it really worth it? Finally, I booked directly through Disney and made sure to tell them that we are three adults. Will we be charged for the extra adult, or what that already calculated when we booked? I may call and ask, but I wanted first hand experience.

Thanks to everyone who's answered my questions. I can't wait for all of our trips! Wish it wasn't so far away.

Yes you need to rebook, there are limited rooms available for the free dining. You can't simply "add" the free dining to an existing reservation. It all comes down to what's available. For your second question, the cost of the third adult is already calculated into your total.

Nope, F&W runs from late September through mid November.

[GALLERY=][/GALLERY]I've never posted on here but love reading all the tips and tricks of disney! My hubby and I are planned a ten year over due honeymoon to Disney world October 3-9.. I'm so over the moon excited!!! :) with this being a no kids trip, and my honeymoon finally, I was wondering what to pack clothes wise?? I'm from Michigan and have never been to FL during October. And what are some romantic things for us to do?? And has anyone ever had one of those extra add-ons for like the flowers and things in your room before you arrive?? So yeah, I'm going all out this time and can not wait!! Thanks in advance for the help!

October is still going to be quite warm. Definitely check the weather reports when you're packing. It's likely to still be in the mid to high 80s. Have a romantic dinner at California Grill and stay for the fireworks.

Having said that, I just booked us for October 23-29! :woohoo:

We have used Disbey Floral & Gifts to order in room surprises before, but just a note that they will not put anything in your room until after you are checked in (in case you change rooms for any reason). You can also have a custom cake delivered to most table service restaurants - search for the "Cake Chatter" thread for tons of pictures and ideas. Have a great trip!!!

I'm so ready for the October park hours to come out. I need to know when MNSSHP is going to be to be able to plan my park days!

Add me to the list, please :). Our trip is booked for 10-1-16 through 10-7-16. We're booked at the Poly right now, but that's subject to change if any RO discounts come out for our dates :). This will be our third trip in October, but the earliest in October we've gone. We usually go during the last week, so I'm interested to see how the crowds compare!
