VERO BEACH 2016 Information & Adoration Thread

We just got back. They were definitely working on building 14 while we were there. I don't think anyone was staying in that building, as it was all blocked off. They had just worked on the water slide, and on Monday they closed down the Tiger Lily splash area to work on that.
THANKS for posting. When I spoke with someone by phone at front desk they indicated that Inn work would be done first. Surprised to hear that work seems to be done on Bldg 14, but if they are doing villa work concurrently, certainly a plus.:goodvibes:thumbsup2

Does anyone have a suggestion for things to do at Vero Beach that aren't necessarily at the resort? We will have a rental car.

I am getting an information overload I suppose when I look for things to do.

You can sign up for a guided kayak adventure and be shuttled and guided by a Disney Cast Member. Snack and bottled water included in the cost.

Just got here at 10:30 this morning and my room was ready! I have an Ocean View Inn room on the 4th floor. I was surprised by this. Front desk said they were to start in the main building fourth floor on Monday, but decided to postpone on Tuesday. That's exactly the day my wait list was granted for Ocean View. Today being a Sunday there was no work being done on the Tiger Lilly Splash play area but I could see that work had begun there. The water slide is unexpectedly closed, and lifeguards could not tell me when it might reopen. If I find out anything more I will post an update.

Thanks for the update::yes::; ENJOY your Ocean View room!:thumbsup2 Hope that the water slide reopens!:wizard:

I am thrilled for you to have gotten your 4th floor room! Enjoy your trip!! How long is your stay?

I am sad though that the previous posts about 4th floor refurb already in place turned out to be incorrect because now it sounds like they are already behind in getting this done. Our visit is April 4th, Inn Oceanview, and we are "balcony dwellers" so only the 3rd and 4th floors make for a great trip (Last year was impacted badly with the painting of the outside of the inn and loud, big machinery across the whole oceanside as well as many closed rooms) - Sounds like floor 3 may be down still then when we get there now. Refurb has to happen, I know, but feel bad for people that are having their ressies cancelled all together or being asked to move places they may not want to go. Please keep the updates coming!

Thanks for your good wishes! When I first started booking my 5 nights here I could only get one night January 31. Then I kept looking twice a day for months and gradually worked my way up to the five nights I wanted but with 2 room changes because OV wasn't available. It wasn't until last Tuesday everything was changed to all five nights OV!
They didn't say why they started renovations Monday in the Inn Building on the 4th floor then promptly postponed it on Tuesday. I will be adding updates as I find out more information. I leave Friday.

Happy to report that the water slide reopened this morning! I was very happy to be the first guest to slide down after the life guard gave it a test run! The kids pirate ship splash area is also very near completion. It has been carefully repainted and some features reassembled. Building 14 has exterior work going on with the walkway blocked approaching the entire right side. This building houses one and two bedroom units and studios. Through lighted windows this evening I could see large equipment in the rooms. I learned from a front desk cast member that the Main Inn building work that was postponed on Tuesday January 26 after it was supposed to begin on the fourth floor the day before, will now start tomorrow, February 5, on the third floor instead. Some clearing of those rooms started today, and that floor will be taken out of inventory till completion. The renovations here are expected to take a little over one year and should be completed by March 2017. The entire Inn Building should be completed first. They couldn't show me a renovated room as many changes have been made to the original model they did have. So, that's all the information I could gather. My five night stay was wonderful. The weather has been so warm and everything has been just lovely here. I'll regretfully be checking out tomorrow and taking 3 flights home to northern New England. Sigh!

Strange change to now skip the 4th floor for the time being it seems. 3rd floor is our favorite, so I have fingers and toes crossed that it will be reopened for our visit (previous posts had mentioned a month to maybe 6 weeks per floor so hopefully that will work out) - Thank you SO much for posting this update. Over a year of renovations - wow - that is long for a resort that is not as big as the Orlando ones......Glad you had a marvelous time. Back home to snow ..........

Yes, it is odd that they postponed 4th floor and started on the third floor. They didn't give a reason. Before I left this morning I asked when the Inn
building would be completed and they expect it to be all done sometime in August, but they
said that was if there are no
unforeseen delays.

We will be visiting for the third time next Saturday February 13-17.
We are doing a 4 day cruise on the Wonder right after. First time in an ocean view inn room. We have stayed in a studio and one bedroom.
Looking forward to talking football with DJ Joe Dillon!!

You have been added to roll call, enjoy your stay

Hi, would love to hear if anyone knows what the refurbishment will include, and if it includes the murphy bed for inn rooms or studios as recent renovations at some of the Orlando resorts have.

Just booked my annual September visit and modified my May dates so I can attend a concert on my original check-in date. I really miss DVBR and all the fantastic CMs there.
