Nick Hotel Tips

Hi everyone! Long time Disney resort guest here so all this is new to me!!!

We originally had a weekend in July booked for the Nick Hotel, but once we found out they were changing their hotel, we switched our reservations to a weekend in March. We are solely going for the Nick experience before it's too late! :(

Our number one thing is hopefully getting a chance to participate in Double Dare Live! Any tips?

Also, any tips for fun things at the hotel would be greatly appreciated! It's my husband and I and our DD8!

Thanks in advance!!!!

Beside activities at the hotel itself...Keep your accommodation expectations low , and pack Lysol and an air freshener for your room. ;)

We've never stayed here but based on what I've read there may be some type of daily resort activity schedule to pay attention to if you want to do specific character meet and greets as well as scheduled times for the live shows and games. As with anything, I'd make it a point to sign up as early as possible where required to get the best chance to participate.
On a side note, I am very surprised Nickelodeon is parting ways with this property and is no longer interested in marketing their brand/network in what is probably the most popular tourist destination for families. Considering how popular Nickelodeon characters, shows, and merchandise are they could have really did something big with this renovation such as revamped suites - I envision new Sponge Bob suites, Ninja Turtle suites, Nick Jr. themed suites with Bubble Guppies, Team Umizoomi, and Paw Patrol, and tween/teen oriented suites with modern decor and theft-proof gaming systems. With a revamped food court, water park pools, play areas, arcade, 4-D and live shows they could have really made this a state of the art true one-stop vacation destination (and alternative to Disney) for families.

Thank you! I appreciate the tips and I totally agree! Nickelodeon characters are very popular!

Bring lots of money! I feel like we were nickeled and dimed to death at that place. The kid loved it however.
Thanks so much for that tip!!!!! Wow! What were some the favorites that were not included? 4D theater? Do they have the laser maze? Thank you!

How is it changing? I was just looking at it and thinking about it for a quick trip next March break!

This is from the email we received:
"Dear ....., effective April 18, 2016, the resort will become the NEW Holiday Inn Resort Orlando Suites - Waterpark. The resort will continue to be a destination hotel dedicated to imagination, play and exploration for kids and parents alike! The rebranding creates opportunities to bring new features to life, including a newly renovated waterpark, laser maze, 4-D theater lineup and live entertainment in our studio and poolside! We will no longer offer Nickelodeon experiences past April 17, 2016, but will continue to deliver a fun and energetic experience. For questions regarding your reservation please call 407.387.5438. We look forward to your stay."
