Need to know....do BWV 1 brs sleep 4 or 5?

I've seen conflicting information...we presently have a resv at BWV for the end of March in a 1 BR. Per Disney, they sleep 4, but I've seen, or at least I think I have seen, posts about refurbishments saying that they will sleep 5. The size of the beds doesn't matter, I have skinny kids who will sleep anywhere. We usually stay in an OKW 1 BR and it is more than enough room. When I called Disney, I think they told me that the 1BRs sleep 4 and the studios sleep 5, which seems strange. We want a separate bedroom so we want the 1BR as opposed to a studio. I may call and change reservations, so I'm hoping to get to the bottom of this tonight, thanks in advance for any help!

The studios are getting the murphy bed and will be changing to 5. 1Br's will remain the same with sleeping spots for 4 although they will allow you to book 5 into a 1BR. You just have to bring the bedding and the bed for the 5th.

Allow 5, arrangements for 4. You'll have to figure out where to put and bring bedding for #5.

Thanks! Update! When I called Disney, she told me that they were refurbishing the rooms floor by floor and that the new ones slept 5. when we check in we should request one that sleeps 5, although we may not get it. She didn't seem altogether sure of these facts. I told her that I had been looking for info on a Disney online board and she said that sometimes people learn info from online chats before they do!

I am just gong to hope that we can get a 5-sleeper, and bring a cot if we can't. We usually stay at OKW in a 1 BR so we are used to all the roominess of that place, I hope this works, but in any case, it's Disney, and will be fun!

MS may have misunderstood your question.

TO BE CLEAR, only the BWV STUDIOS have beds for 5 - they have one queen bed, one double sleep sofa and one Murphy bed.

NONE of the BWV 1 bedrooms beds for 5 - there is one king bed in the bedroom, one queen sleep sofa in the living room. NO MURPHY BED. MS will register 5 in a BWV 1 bedroom, but you are on your own to provide a bed & linens (and towels) for the 5th person. Some bring an aero bed or similar for the 5th person.

OKW 1 bedrooms do sleep 5 - those have the king in the bedroom, as well as a queen sleep sofa AND a twin sleep chair in the living room.

I wonder why they don't put the twin sleeper chair in like they did in other resorts.

We only ever have 4 people, but I have a boy and a girl. They shared the pullout sofa when they were little, but they don't share now that they're teenagers. A sleeper chair would be perfect in our situation.

OP,
I bought a twin aerobed and pack it in my suitcase. It doesn't take up that much room, and the kids say it's comfortable. Works out well.

The connecting door to the adjacent studio is in the living room. That takes out any space for a sleeper chair (which would be extremely tight in the configuration used for BWV, BCV, SSR, VWL) and eliminates the murphy bed installation, too.

Recently in the 1BR. There is literally no place to put the sleeper chair because the connecting doors to the studio are right in the living room where any such chair could fit and those chairs are far too heavy to be placing them in front of doors that need to be opened when you have a 2BR. It would also be difficult to put in the cabinet/murphy bed arrangement in the living room of the 1BR like that which is being put in the studios because the living room in the 1BR is not as wide as the studio bedroom and the couch in the 1BR, when pulled out, gets too close to the cabinet that sits below the TV, thus not allowing needed space for the pull down murphy bed.

That info is incorrect if you are still talking about 1 bedrooms. 100% without question. I'd hate to see you get there and not have a bed for someone.

Makes sense. It's too bad, those sleeper chairs are great. We saw them in Hilton Head. Of course, we don't need them there because we get a 2bedroom when we go there. Figures. LOL

We just got back from our stay in a BWV 1 bedroom. We brought our own twin inflatable bed and set my 11yo daughter up in the entry hallway. :) She enjoyed this because it was like she had her own room. We did have to step over the corner of her bed if we were coming in late at night but it worked out fine.
She did start out next to the doors to the balcony but she said it was too cold over there.

We were in a 1br at BWV during Christmas. There were five of us, three kids-12,13,14. My daughter slept on the sofa and the boys were on the floor with air mattresses. She didn't unfold the sofa. The boys put their mattresses on the sides of the tv. There was plenty of room.

I guess if one child is small enough he or she can sleep in between you two in the king bed (my son is 10 and still likes to do this) and the other two on the queen sofa. Or if all the children are small they can share the queen fold out couch in the living room. If you're talking more than two adults, then you may want to bring an air bed.

Thank you for all of the replies! It is clear that despite what the cast member told me, the 1brs at BWV do NOT sleep 5 unless you bring your own bed and even then it sounds tight. I changed the resv to another resort. Oh, well!! Thanks!

Correct. When we need to sleep 5 we book AKV/kidani or BLT because of the extra bed/chair PLUS 2 bathrooms! If it's a short stay we consider OKW, also has the sleep chair, but only 1 bathroom. You could look into the poly since it sleeps 5 and has a split bathroom, a bigger studio than others.

We are a family of 5 and are booked at BWV in a 1BR- can I have amazon ship two twin blow up beds directly to the hotel? Or should I just check them? I liked the idea of one kid on the couch- not pulled out and two kids on blow up beds like @sticker231 suggested!

We brought them. Just probably easier for your piece of mind to know you have them and don't have to worry about it getting misplaced.
