Do you care what your luggage looks like?

On the luggage issue, do u prefer rolling duffle or hard upright for airplane travel?

I prefer hard upright.

My carry on is a Lo and Sons OG bag. It was a splurge, but I love it and it fits perfectly under the seat. It also has a strap to slip the handle of my suitcase through. It also holds a ton.

No. I'm of the "use it up, wear it out, make do, or do without" mentality for both my budget, and the planet. I have some UGLY luggage that still works. Hey, no one is going to steal it! ;-)

We only replace when it's breaking or doesn't fit the new standards for carry-on (we still kept the other but use it as checked baggage for shorter trips). We recently had to do that with a couple of our bigger bags. Then I prefer something that is not the generic black so it is easier to spot.

Ours looks like it's been through the war and back, but all the zippers/clasps/etc. are still in perfect shape. We do have a smaller, fashionable pair of suitcases that we use for travel on weekend trips that we drive to our destinations. Otherwise, the less fancy the better. I've seen how airports treat luggage!

Do not care. Our luggage was a wedding gift in 2007 and it's pretty banged up but still going strong. Haven't seen any reason to replace it as long as the wheels and zippers work.

After buying or being given sets as gifts about once a year I admitted defeat and bought hardsided luggage! All of my previous sets were nice ones from JC Penny and not inexpensive by any means, some lasted 3-4 flights before being greasy, slit, broken in some fashion or form but one set had the support in the back of the largest bag broken on the first trip home after being given them as a gift, it was replaced by JCP and the next trip the medium size had slice down the entire back compliments of the airlines! My current ones are made by Coleman (as in camping equipment) and are bright blue........not that you can see the color very much since they are fast becoming totally covered with stickers that I buy everywhere I travel! I started filling the carry on and am rapidly working my way to covering the other two :) My mother says they look tacky, well that wasn't my intent, I just wanted to enjoy looking at stickers from my travels but if they look tacky and no one wants to bother them its a win win situation for me!

My luggage that is only a year old looks awful, I'm not about to spend another couple hundred to replace it! The only thing I care about is that I can tell it's mine, so all my bags are bright teals and turquoises with disney luggage tags. I do have one that I care about, it's a Heys Mickey carry on, but that doesn't get handled by anyone but me!

Lol... No I could care less. I try not to buy black bags that look like every other bag coming down the conveyor but could care less about looks.

I actually really like the look of worn luggage because it indicates that there's a story there--this bag and this person have been all over! But I am widely acknowledged to be a weirdo.

When I got a new job ~3 years ago that would require more travel I spent like $300 on a Briggs and Riley expandable roller and it certainly doesn't look brand new but it's still going strong. And it's perfect, when it's in it's "small" form I can put it in an overhead bin for a short trip or I can expand it and pack it to the brim and check it for a weeklong trip. I love my suitcase, even though it is starting to wear, and though it was expensive, the longer it lasts the lower the "per use" cost is so I'm totally cool with it.
