Comfortable affordable flats?

I am trying to find a comfortable pair of flats that retail for less than $100. I am considering Toms cause I have heard they are great for the parks. Any feedback on their wedges?

I already have a few pairs of Teva's and Reefs so I am set for flip flops and those are normally what I wear. I just would like some regular shoes as well for some days.

I am a flip-flop/sandal wearer so I like a breathable flat when I wear one. I purchased these Bernie Mevs for a trip to Scotland and they are amazing. I have never worn them in the Parks, but I averaged 8-10 miles walking a day in Scotland. I have the Braided Catwalk in Rainbow and the Ballet Me in black. They are like walking on air! They have a memory foam type of insole and the shoe itself is made of a stretchy material that breathes. http://www.amazon.com/s?ie=UTF8&page=1&rh=n:7141123011,k:bernie mev

My sister does wear Toms in the parks and she loves them.

I've worn Toms in the parks. I particularly like their "sneaker". I think it's called the Avalon. Wore them all over Europe last summer as well and they were comfortable and durable. I found the original Toms didn't have enough support, but this style did.

I'm a HUGE advocate of Toms, and even the knock off ones do the same work for my feet. I usually have 1-2 actual Toms and maybe one knock off brand, but they go with everything, skirts, shorts, dresses, pants, they're super comfy and are great for in the parks. Maybe pick up some knock off brands if you're considering because once you get them wet, they STINK TO HIGH HEAVEN when you're not wearing them, (and sometimes when you are depending on how old they are). Since Fl's pretty wet I'd hate for you to buy a brand new pair of toms and it rain on them

Just had to say....I would not wear my Toms wedges into the park, unless I was just popping in for dinner. I LOVE mine, but they're high, fairly heavy, and pretty stiff. They're comfortable, but not "park comfortable," in my opinion.

These aren't like...flats in the style of Tom's, but they are flat shoes...and the most comfortable ones I own, at that. Skechers go walks :thumbsup2 we got them to walk around Japan for two weeks. They are amazing. I wear them everywhere, haha. Like walking on clouds!

Ditto! I have arthritis, and these are literally the only shoes I can wear. So comfy, even after a full day in the parks.

I live in Vionics anymore. They have most any style of shoes and are made specifically to give proper support. I developed PF and had terrible pain in regular shoes anymore. These made a huge difference. Depending on the style you should be able to get something under $100. A very cool plus is they have a 30 day wear and return policy. I had a couple pairs I didn't end up loving and sent them back after wearing them for a few weeks, no questions.

That's what I was thinking with the wedges but figured it was worth looking into. I will have to check out the Avalon's, Olukai and the Sketchers!

Where do you buy your knock off ones?

Ardene's, Hobby Lobby, you have to do some searching but most shoe stores have toms like shoes that aren't toms brand

Zulily always has a Tom's sale...so, be on the lookout for those. Also, I have been seeing them at my local Tjmaxx for the last few months. I personally think that walking in toms all day long at the parks would start to be uncomfortable on your feet...and I wear mine daily. It's a lot of walking and I always wear tennis shoes. During the day it's usually running shoes, but in the evening after dinner when we hit the parks again in our dinner clothes, I usually switch to my vans. They look cute with just about anything and are really comfortable.

Yep! I have a pair of these and they are my go to comfy shoes..could definitely wear them at DW!

I love Tom's. They are on Zulily this week. I actually just ordered myself and my girls a pair today. 3 pairs for less than $100.

I think it depends too on what you are used to from a "flat".

My DD could wear Toms all day long at a park and be fine, that is too flat for me. I wear Skechers Go Walk and have no issues.

2nd the Bernie Mev Catwalk--Zappos usually has them too, which might work out better because sometimes their sizing is inconsistent (I have 2 pairs of Catwalks in 2 different sizes that fit exactly the same; I've also got a pair of Lulia that have stretched out over time, making them very slide-y when I walk, which is not great because they've got a wedge and I've almost twisted my ankle a few times. Never had the stretching out problem with the Catwalk though, and they are so comfortable!

IMO, Tom's would not have enough support for all day at WDW.
If I am not wearing something like Teva's, then I wear running shoes.

One option to improve almost any pair of shoes is a set of insoles. I use them in my boots and it very much improves how long I'm able to wear them. You don't need super expensive ones. I recently bought Spenco brand, and there were other options in the same price range of about $10-15.

We learned the hard way, our feet are the most important part of our bodies at WDW. I don't skimp when it comes to shoes. If someone in my family needs new quality shoes, it is a wise investment! If you need to go up to $100, it is still a good deal!
