You don't need to start a separate thread. Fish Extenders are handled on your Cruise Meet thread.So... I started a thread so everyone who wishes to can sign up for the FE. Now I've never done this before but I'm trying lol.

As people express an interest, you put them down on the list (you're going to maintain the list?) A few decisions need to be made by the group, and discussions as to these decisions can be handled privately, by using the Conversation option. But, everyone participating in the FE group needs to have at least 10 posts before they can participate in a conversation. Or you can just discuss them directly on the cruise meet thread.
Decisions to be made:
1. Are we going to specify how many gifts (individual gifts vs. one gift per room vs. whatever anyone wants to give).
2. What do we want for a cut off date? This is generally 30-45 days out from the cruise to allow everyone time to purchase/create their gifts.
3. Do we want to limit the number of rooms/participants? Some groups close once they have 10 rooms or a specific cut off date, whatever works for them. Other groups split out separate groups (10-20 rooms on each list), while others just maintain a list as large as it gets by the cut off date.
It's a good idea to post the list a couple of weeks before the cutoff date, with the disclaimer - "Everyone needs to confirm their participation. Anyone not confirming will be dropped". Sounds harsh, but there are often people who, when they first reserve the cruise who pop up and say "We want to participate in the FE group" and then you never hear from them again.
