Aulani with an infant

So we are trying to figure out our big trip this year. Looking to do something in oct-early dec. Considering Aulani.

Are we crazy to go with a 10 ish month old and an almost 4 year old? My biggest worry is long flight and car rental and dealing with car seats.

Anyone go with those ages or close to?

Our other options are:

Disneyland (have gone before we had kids)
Disney Cruise Line (have done quite a few of them)

I am not sure where you are flying from, but even from the west coast the flight is 5 hours long minimum. Personally I would not fly with an infant that young on a flight that long. But that's just me.

Well we have been taking our kids back and forth to Hawaii from Toronto (10+ hours of travel) for over 18 years and although not every journey has been perfect it has made them into well seasoned travelers. The worst was when my son was just one year old and he cried for almost the full flight, then did not do well with the time change and woke up ready to play at 2:30ish every morning! There have been many many many great times that have made up for it though. So long as you have two adults to keep an eye on each child it can be an adventure. We have always just taken our own car seats or rented car seats without a problem. Aulani is such a great family resort, the lagoon is fantastic for little kids-even your baby would be able to sit in the calm shallow water with supervision. There are the two amazing water play features (Menehune play area and then a much smaller splash pad) and I know your kids can ride with you in the floats for the lazy river.

Thank you! We aren't afraid of an adventure and truth be told there is no perfect age to travel things happen and can go wrong.

We haven't gone yet, but we will be going in a few months with a 1 and 4 yr old. We took our 4 yr old to Hawaii when he was just 1. It was a long way for us since we are from MI, but the best advice I received was to bring new toys for them. So we stock up on the $1 & $3 stuff at target... small coloring book that comes in a pouch with crayons and stickers, small/cheap beach toys, etc. Every few hours we would pull something new out and it was great. Also, we brought a tablet with movies for him too. Also, bring their favorite snacks. It's not too bad as long as you are prepared.

We did Aulani with our 3 month old. She was an angel on the flight (slept the whole time there and back) and was super easy. For car seats we use our Britax with the Britax travel cart (love it), we have used it several times and people always stop us and ask about it. I think the thing to remember is travelling with children is an adventure and we have some amazing memories made travelling with our children at young ages. They may not remember, but we sure do! Do what feels best for your family, you know your children best. I have to admit our first child was an absolute nightmare to travel with as an infant, but it didn't stop us (earplugs and a drink for those around you can go a long way on a plane with a fussy baby). Sure things will not always go according to plan, but nothing in live ever does. Enjoy whatever you decide...happy travels!

We are going for it all booked.

4 night at Disneyland and 6 nights at Aulani, Can't Wait. DS will be 8.5 months and DD will be 3 years almost 9 months. Its going to be a great adventure.

No way!! Take the little one and enjoy the little ones looked to be having an absouelte blast in the kids pools!

Aulani is built for relaxation - so I'd assume with the ride constraints of the Disneyland park and the hustle of the cruises getting from a to b and not having the kids club option yet Aulani seems like the perfect fit!
