We were originally planning not to park hop but now we're purchasing annual passes (... yes, big change lol) so we could hop over to a park for dinner on day 3 instead of 1900 PF. This is the one I'm considering switching for Akershus, and then changing the Saturday night dinner to something else the entire family might enjoy more. What do you think/what would you recommend? What is the character dining dinner with the best quality food? Are the character meals spaced out enough that it won't be too much of a good thing? Is the 1900 PF dinner a "don't miss"?

Thanks for your time!

We really enjoyed the character interaction at 1900 PF. The Tremaine's are HYSTERICAL! Antics the whole time! You likely will end up with just about the same princesses at CRT and Akershus. You get pic with Cinderella and then Belle at Akershus, but the princesses that come to the table will likely be the same group (at least that was our experience). It was okay, as I wanted to try the food at Akershus, and it was good. I remember having the same "should I drop one" discussion on the DIS back then, in 2013, and some suggested to keep, and some suggested to drop one. I was happy with keeping them.

Anyway, I just wanted to put out there that they character interaction at 1900 PF is something that I absolutely loved (2015), and so glad that we went! We all had a blast.

I would maybe swap out Akershus for Garden Grill, Chef Mickey's, or Tusker House - If I were going to make a swap for another character meal with Mickey and Friends.

Thank you so much for responding! Since just DD and I will be at CRT, I figured the rest of the family wouldn't mind Akershus! I was worried that maybe 1900 wouldn't be princess-y enough for a post BBB meal, but maybe it's fine? :) So glad you enjoyed 1900 though!!

I think 1900 PF would be great after BBB. I bet it would also prompt some comments from the Tremaines, especially dependent on who your DD was dressed as!

I would drop Akershus in favor of a restaurant Grandma and Grandpa would enjoy. (no characters, better food)

We did 1900 Park Fare one year after BBB. It was great for a "princess" since Prince Charming was there:)

when my dd was 5, we took a trip with the grandparents (my parents). It was a first trip for dd, my mom, and me. Dad and Dh had been before. Dad had been many many years ago, before they had resorts. Dh had been with his family as a child and as an adult, and had chaperoned school trips (we are educators).
We all went with the understanding that the trip was primarily for dd (5).
We waited so late to book our trip that ADRs were limited, but I grabbed every princess meal I could get and was glad I did.
The first was Akershus. Dd loved it, and my parents liked the food.
1900 Park Fair was our favorite. The food was delicious, and the Tremaines were hilarious.
We didn't get CRT, but I sure wanted it. Lol.
We did eat a lunch at BOG.
