The One Where I Forget to Take Pics - A December 2015 Dining Report - COMPLETED, 2/8: Boma

Boma! Can't go wrong with that breakfast for sure. Thank you so much for a fantastic review of your dining experiences :)

Yummm... can't end it much better than breakfast at Boma! Deliciousness!!

Yes. They tasted every bit as good as they looked. I'm sitting here staring at them and regretting my life choices. Namely (1) giving up carbs, and (2) ever leaving Disney World. When I return in October, mark my words... Every morning, there will be omelets and Mickey waffles as far as the eye can see.

Amen.

No, not even a tiny bit spicy! And believe me, I'm a HUUUUGE wussy girl when it comes to spice... I can't handle even a little tiny bit. Sometimes people will have me try something and be all like "No no, it's not spicy at all," so I try it and then I am all:

"OMG YOU DIRTY FILTHY LIAR, I HATE YOU AND YOUR WHOLE FAMILY, IT'S LIKE CHERNOBYL IN MY MOUTH, HOLY CRAP I'M GOING TO DIE, HOW DARE YOU, FLAMES THERE'S ACTUAL FLAMES COMING ROLLING OFF MY TONGUE LIKE A GD DRAGON, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD GIVE ME WATER OR I WILL KILL YOU WHILE YOU SLEEP."
LOL!!!! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the awesome report!
(Gotta get a move on with my own. Haven't even started yet and I've been back almost two weeks!)

I loved all of your reviews! You seem to enjoy dining on vacation as much as my family and I. Some of the places you dined were ones we also enjoy, but I've got some new ones to add to our list- thanks! And even without some pics, it was still helpful and entertaining thanks to your wonderful descriptions!

Ending on Mickey Waffles is probably the best way to end a Disney Trip at least. I really like Boma breakfast.
Mickey waffle just bring me so so so much joy! (And so does Boma!) :goodvibes

Boma! Can't go wrong with that breakfast for sure. Thank you so much for a fantastic review of your dining experiences :)
My pleasure, thanks for reading! :-)

You know I'm all about ending my trips on a delicious note! :thumbsup2

:lmao:

Thanks for the awesome report!
(Gotta get a move on with my own. Haven't even started yet and I've been back almost two weeks!)
Once you do get your report going, please let me know, I would love to follow along! :cutie:

I loved all of your reviews! You seem to enjoy dining on vacation as much as my family and I.
Girl, I go to Disney World to EAT! :rotfl:

Some of the places you dined were ones we also enjoy, but I've got some new ones to add to our list- thanks! And even without some pics, it was still helpful and entertaining thanks to your wonderful descriptions!
Hooray, I'm so glad you enjoyed! :goodvibes

Thanks for another great Billie dining report...love reading about da food!!
I'm glad because I love eating da food!

I'm half German and not really a fan of German food. My grandmother used to make it all the time and I was like :snooty: except for German chocolate cake lol! Biergarten for us is ok; Steve likes it. I fill up on pretzel bread, soup if I like what they have, and their desserts.

The eggs were scrambled with ham and little bit of cheese. These were good, but they didn't hold a candle to the scramble eggs with goat cheese and chives that I had on my last breakfast visit here in Sept. 2014. I was hoping those would be available for nomming on this visit, but we got hammy eggs instead! Oh well! Still ate them! Yum!

Ah yes, now I see what you're talking about. After trying the eggs w/goat cheese & chives last month I would be disappointed if I went back and they didn't have them. And believe me, I WILL be back!

Thank you for another great dining report Billie :flower3:

What a shame you ordered the curry and even more so that you didn't have room for the wontons :faint: :rotfl2:

I wasn't too keen on the German food either although I've been to the actual country several times and didn't starve :rotfl2:

Glad you had a good end to your trip at Boma and thanks for all your reviews :)

Lunch at Yak and Yeti has never been on my radar. But that appetizer does look good!

Biergarten was "more than ok" on my scale. I am not a fan of German sausage but I enjoyed lots of the sides and the chicken. There was also this little berry type dessert in little shot glass things that I loved and may have eaten like 4 servings of...

Ok and thanks to you I now have a breakfast ADR booked at Boma on our rest day. We're staying at AKL so I think it will be easy to get to and I'm not 100% we'll keep it. But I'm hungry and that food looks GOOD right now!

Let me say it loud and clear for the people in the back: I LOVE BOMA. :cutie:

YESSSSSS GIRL. I became a fan of Boma on our last trip... SO GOOD. And I thought the people and the service there was great, too!!

Yum!

:O I was looking for the scrambled eggs with goat cheese in November and sadly I didn't see them either. I think Justin had some of the ones you have on your plate. He liked them too but I was so hoping for the goat cheese ones!

20151211_104647-1.jpg

Oh my godddddddd I'm drooling. Like I can taste the butter and syrup and crispy waffles right now. We are going in April and we weren't going to do any breakfast ADR's (Justin is a fan of grabbing a bagel or something, or bringing stuff from home) but I was like I NEED MICKEY WAFFLES. Did you try the french toast bread pudding with pecan praline sauce?! :worship::worship: I can't even. So amazing.

Thanks for letting all of us travel along with you! :lovestruc Sorry to see your report is over. I guess you just need to go back!

Seriously girl you CRACK ME UP!!! I laughed so hard I almost bounced the cat off my lap!

He was all...

Oh, and then my second plate. Because Mickey waffles.

Mickey Waffles!!

I stayed up late and finished in 1 day! Woo hoo, go me! Everything looks so good! I want to move to Disney and just eat every meal there. Is that really too much to ask?!?!?!

PS. I don't like Indian food either. People keep saying "oh but you haven't tried THIS", but I don't like curry which is in all the Indian food! lol

Thank you for another incredible report! Your pics are THE best. You have a real talent & skill with the camera. Kudos to you! :worship:

Girl, I looooooove me some German chocolate cake! If they had that on the dessert bar at Biergarten when I went, I would have just had a big plate of cake for dinner. I would go back somebody I was with wanted it, and I think I would enjoy it more next time knowing what to expect/avoid.

Ah yes, now I see what you're talking about. After trying the eggs w/goat cheese & chives last month I would be disappointed if I went back and they didn't have them. And believe me, I WILL be back!
Girl, them goat cheese eggs were all I thought about for MONTHS! I nearly wept when they didn't have them for me this time! :sad1:

Thank you for another great dining report Billie :flower3:
Thanks for following!

What a shame you ordered the curry and even more so that you didn't have room for the wontons :faint: :rotfl2:
I'm going to attempt to rectify this transgression on my October trip!

I wasn't too keen on the German food either although I've been to the actual country several times and didn't starve :rotfl2:
Hahaha! I don't think I would starve, not even if I went back to Biergarten. Just hopefully I'll be feeling better, and also be better prepared for my options!

Glad you had a good end to your trip at Boma and thanks for all your reviews :)
Boma NEVER disappoints! Ever! :goodvibes Thank you for reading!

Lunch at Yak and Yeti has never been on my radar. But that appetizer does look good!
It's been on my radar, but as kind of a low priority thing. But I had the gift card, so why not, right?! And now I'm really regretting not getting the wonton dessert... So much so that I've worked in an ADR for lunch in April so I can atone for my previous food sins. :rotfl:

Biergarten was "more than ok" on my scale. I am not a fan of German sausage but I enjoyed lots of the sides and the chicken. There was also this little berry type dessert in little shot glass things that I loved and may have eaten like 4 servings of...
All the sides just tasted super vinegary and/or dilly to me (which isn't my thing at all), or just indescribably weird. I would eat there again if I was traveling with somebody who really wanted to go, but now I know to go and just happily fill up on beer and chicken legs and desserts next time! :goodvibes

Ok and thanks to you I now have a breakfast ADR booked at Boma on our rest day. We're staying at AKL so I think it will be easy to get to and I'm not 100% we'll keep it. But I'm hungry and that food looks GOOD right now!
KEEP THAT!!! You won't regret it! It's the best buffet food in WDW! And you're staying RIGHT THERE at AKL, so when else are you going to have a better opportunity to try it? Girl, when I stay at the Beach Club in October, I'm eating ALL the things. Seriously. I have scheduled plans to hit up Hurricane Hannahs, Yachtsman Steakhouse, Captain's Grille, Beach Club Marketplace, Beaches & Cream, AND Cape May Cafe. No Yacht/Beach Club restaurant is gonna be safe from me on this trip!

YESSSSSS GIRL. I became a fan of Boma on our last trip... SO GOOD. And I thought the people and the service there was great, too!!
Boma is the BEST! And you're right, the staff is consistently fantastic, too! ::yes::

:O I was looking for the scrambled eggs with goat cheese in November and sadly I didn't see them either. I think Justin had some of the ones you have on your plate. He liked them too but I was so hoping for the goat cheese ones!
The hammy ones were good, but they were NOTHING compared to the goat cheese eggs!!! WHY GOD, WHY?!

I know. I have to NOT look at this photo during my workday because it just makes me want them SO BADLY. And with me doing and succeeding on this whole Low Carb thing, Mickey waffles are the VERY LAST thing I should wanting! And most of the resort food courts have them, don't they? You could always sneak down on your own one morning and get you some waffles! Let him sit there and eat his dumb bagel!

Did you try the french toast bread pudding with pecan praline sauce?! :worship::worship: I can't even. So amazing.
Ummmmm. No. And if this had been an option when I was there, I most DEFINITELY would have tried this!!! Stupid rotating menus!

Thanks for letting all of us travel along with you! :lovestruc Sorry to see your report is over. I guess you just need to go back!
Thank you for joining me and helping me relive my adventure!

Seriously girl you CRACK ME UP!!! I laughed so hard I almost bounced the cat off my lap!

I take spicy food deception very seriously. ::yes::

He was all...

Bahaha! Poor little kittums! :rotfl:

I stayed up late and finished in 1 day! Woo hoo, go me! Everything looks so good! I want to move to Disney and just eat every meal there. Is that really too much to ask?!?!?!
I'm actually working on that! I have a 5-year plan that has me living in the Orlando area and either working for Disney or working somewhere else and having an annual pass by the time I turn 40 years old. And then I can eat ALL the things! :D

PS. I don't like Indian food either. People keep saying "oh but you haven't tried THIS", but I don't like curry which is in all the Indian food! lol
I know, me too! It's just not a flavor profile that I enjoy! I have NO IDEA what possessed me to order Indian food that day! LOL :confused3

Thank you for another incredible report! Your pics are THE best. You have a real talent & skill with the camera. Kudos to you! :worship:
Awww, that is SO very sweet of you to say, I really appreciate it! I'm so glad you enjoyed!

It's been on my radar, but as kind of a low priority thing. But I had the gift card, so why not, right?!

I causally do "My Points" and cash in for gift cards to use at Y&Y. We really enjoy it! You also made me crave a visit to Boma, it's been years. Thanks for the reviews!

Yes!!! Disney has always been in my dream job category. Planning events for Disney to be more specific. I think my husband may melt if we lived in Florida though. We live in North Ga. and he hates summer. I however hate winter and would love to live in Florida again (I grew up in North Florida)

I thoroughly enjoyed this report! :thumbsup2 Thanks so much for don't it, I'm really happy you enjoyed your vacation. Much appreciated:goodvibes

How was your trip three months after mine and you are done with your report and I'm just half way :-) Better step up my game before the moderators get after me.

I'm not even sure I can recap all this at this point. Clockwise from top it looks like some sort of fritatta, breakfast lasagna, a Mickey waffle (I got REALLY into Mickey waffles during this trip), butter, puffed french toast, sausage link, bacon, some orange stuff, and maybe more bacon!
Between this and your Boma review, I'd give just about anything for a Mickey waffle right about now. And that pooh's french toast. Worth the visit alone.

They brought out this plate of gluten-free waffles and donuts for my aunt to enjoy...

20151209_084234-1.jpg
Impressive even the gluten free stuff is looking good.

Behold, in all it's cheesy meaty carby glory... The Pot Roast Mac & Cheese!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Love it when the meat and carb gods come together in all their glory. Looks divine.

Good lord, the things I could say about this! (Sadly, those things are full of naughty words and the DIS won't let me post them!) I really can't even describe in PG terms how delicious this was.
Let's see I can thing of a d word and maybe an s word and from your picture I"ll add in an f word for good measure ; )

20151209_202021-1.jpg

It looks like it's sense been changed a bit on the menu, so I'm glad I got these beauties when I did! They were the most delicious, perfectly-cooked medium-rare lamb chops, with some sort of mustard-based demi-glaze on the plate, and a cheesy polenta cake. The only thing I didn't love was the polenta... I ate it of course, but just the texture didn't sit well with me. But that's okay, because those chops 110% made up for it!
Yum. Had no idea BoG had lamb on the menu. And they look perfectly cooked. Too bad the polenta had a weird texture though. It does look a bit "sturdy" for polenta. Jason makes a creamy polenta with marscapone cheese and truffle oil that is to die for.

Dim Sum Basket for Two: Pork Pot Stickers, Shrimp Shu Mai, Cha Su Boo, and Pork Siu Mai steamed on a banana leaf, soy lime dipping sauce.

This was AWESOME. I'm a big fan of pot stickers and shu mai dumplings anyhow, and the "Cha Su Boo" (the big white ones) were interesting to try... kinda like a small steamed bun!
This does look AWESOME. Love, love, love me some steamed buns.

And... That was it. No, no wontons. I was full! I regret my choices. I wish I had ordered them anyhow I stuffed them down my gullet. Don't hurt me, @kastoney ! I'll go back someday and order them, I promise!
Billie, I thought I had trained you so well. You disappoint me young grasshopper. But I'll try not to hurt you. But only if we can time our February 2017 trips right and we can eat them together ; )

So. It turns out that I don't like German food, either.
Don't worry, I'm not even sure the Germans like their food :rotfl2:

To be fair though, I also wasn't feeling awesome. I had big beer plans for this dinner too, and I ended up just sticking to water!
Though yes, beer would have helped.

Anyhow... Here's my plate, which might look delicious to some of you!

20151210_193436-1.jpg
Nope, not even looking good to the Germans. I do like me some bratwurst and sauerkraut, but German food certainly isn't the prettiest to look at.

These were good, but they didn't hold a candle to the scramble eggs with goat cheese and chives that I had on my last breakfast visit here in Sept. 2014. I was hoping those would be available for nomming on this visit, but we got hammy eggs instead! Oh well! Still ate them! Yum!
Those scrambled eggs with goat cheese sound divine. May have to try some of those at home.

Why is there not a Mickey waffle fairy that can deliver these on a dime. I need Mickey waffles NOW.

Thanks for letting me eat along with you. As always, love as much Billie time as I can get ; )
