December 5, 2016 Disney Dream Cruise

Hi fellow cruisers! So happy to join the group and we looking forward to connecting with everyone here before we set sail. I surprised my granddaughter and daughter with this Disney cruise for Christmas! My granddaughter is over the moon excited, but I don't know who is really most excited. I'm looking forward to participating in the fish extenders - is there an organizer yet? This is our first Disney cruise so not really sure how this all works

Greetings all!

This will be our 3rd Dream cruise. We were on Deck 6 for our previous cruises and we are booked on Deck 9 this time. Really looking forward to cruising again!

That is sooo awesome CanuckDuck! So...you must know all about the Fish Extenders...my daughter and I are willing to organize or help, or whatever, but where do we start - is it all done on this website? We know it's a way off yet but we're just so excited we can't stand it - my 8 year old granddaughter already wants to pack!!! lol

Hi,
Hope I'm doing this right! We are booked for the Dec. 5 Disney Dream 4-night Bahamian Cruise! We're traveling with my parents, who are using this to celebrate their 40th anniversary next year, and my sister and her family. When we asked my parents how they wanted to celebrate their anniversary, they said a Disney Cruise with our children and grandchildren - we didn't complain!!

We are all VERY interested in participating in FE - but as this is our first Disney Cruise (well, since it was the Big Red Boat that is), we probably wouldn't be the best at organizing. I'm fairly OCD/Type A so I could probably handle the arrangements if need be, but if someone with experience wants to take the lead, I will not fight you for it!

Here's our details:
Room 6170 - Mom, dad, 8 year old boy and 5 year old girl
Room 6174 - Mom, dad, 8 year old girl, 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl
Room 6176 - the anniversary couple - mom & dad

Looking forward to meeting everyone and impatiently counting down the days until we set sail.

This is so great that you have a 8 year old boy and girl going - my granddaughter is 8 now, she will be 9 by the time of the cruise. We thought it would be a lot of fun for her to connect with kids her age before the cruise so by the time of the cruise, they'll be great friends!!!

We just booked our first cruise for 4 of our 5 family members. My husband, myself, and our 2 daughters, who will be 9 & 5 at the date of sailing, will be on board. (We are leaving our 18 month old son at home with grandpa and grandma.) I look forward to getting to know everyone else!
Hi Klug_bug2010! We are also cruising for the first time on DCL with my 8 year old granddaughter who will be 9 by time of the cruise - we think it would be great fun for the kids to communicate before sailing - let me know what you think.

Just booked... Our 3rd Disney Cruise..

Stateroom 7594 Mary Jo, Tony and Alexandria (age 9)

fish extenders... Let's go!!
Hi etrainee27! I am reaching out to families on our cruise with children my granddaughter's age, she will be 9 by the time of the cruise. Would you like your daughter to communicate with my granddaughter before the cruise so they will be great friends by the time of the cruise?

Hi grandma

Hello everyone. I am going to be on the cruise my mom and my grandma. I am so excited to go.

LOL - far from an "expert" on Fish Extenders here. We did not get involved with them on our first cruise. We did get in a group last time but it was organized by someone else and it was in a cruise Facebook group.
They set up groups and created a spreadsheet for each group. Members of the group provided information like stateroom number, names & ages of people in the stateroom, favorite characters, etc. They also made sure to include information such as allergies (wouldn't want to give something with nuts to someone with peanut allergies). Spreadsheets were posted (in our case, in the Facebook group) so people had access to print them off. Everyone in the group was reminded regularly to update the organizer if there were any changes (cancellations, stateroom changes, etc.). Groups were finalized well in advance of the cruise so members could plan for the gifts. The group we were in was 16 staterooms (I think) last time. We have joined a group (again, on Facebook) for this cruise and I believe the limit was 10 staterooms per group.
That's about all I can think of right now. Hope that helped...

There is a FB page that has already started a group but the DISboards do not allow the pages to be linked to this site.
