Hi guys

I'm just looking for some clarification with regards to the Advanced Dining Reservation procedure;

I know ADR's can me made 180 days in advance, but is the +10 days (for resort guests) available when booking online AS WELL as calling over the phone? Or is it just one of the two?

Also, I've read somewhere that (in UK time), you can book online from 11am, but it's 12pm when calling, can anyone clarify this?

Any other tips to make sure we get the reservations we want? We arrive on August 25th so our 180 day will be Friday 26th Feb...

Thanks guys

180+10 is available online and on the phone

Online bookings open at 11am and the call center starts taking calls one hour later, at noon

For a check in august 25th your ADR window opens on Feb 27th, not on the 26th

Hi

Yes 180 +10 is available online.

When I did mine it was 11am online.

The easy way to know exactly is whenever it's 6am in Orlando is the time bookings are released. We are normally 5 hours in front so 11am at the moment. The only time this can differ is during daylight savings.

Orlando changes their times a couple of weeks early and a week later to return to normal http://www.timeanddate.com/time/change/usa/orlando
Here is our schedule https://www.gov.uk/when-do-the-clocks-change just adjust accordingly. Between 13th and 27th it'll be a 4 hour difference so 10am and in October it'll be a 6 hour difference.

Advice I would give is setup your MyDisneyExperience account up well in advance and also set up the other party members. This makes things far easier. I would also suggest booking via PC than via the App as in my experience it was more stable. Book something for a lesser desirable location 100days or so in advance now. That way you can preload the below information prior to the day your 180+10 starts. As soon as your 1st run of bookings are in cancel this booking.

Second piece of advice is have a credit/debit card to hand as you'll need this to secure your ADR. It needs to be valid beyond the date of the reservation so if it is due to expire prior to this it is best to use a different card or ask for a new one in advance.

Third piece of advice is you will need to enter a phone number to make a reservation. Trying to enter a UK mobile number will not work. So drop the leading zero and place the rest of the number in as normal. This had me stumped for a while.

Lastly...If you know you want a really hard to get restaurant. Try and book that towards the end of the 10day period 1st. If that isn't the day you actually wanted try and book the day you wanted after securing the initial booking. You can always cancel later but it's better to readjust your plans if you are desperate for that reservation than to not get it at all.

the system now accepts any kind of number, including the + sign instead of the international 00

About time. Was 80 days ago I did my last lot.

Edit..Just altered my ADR for Narcoossee's to a little later as we found out extra magic hours were on that night. Sadly the only format that the form would still take was dropping the first 0 from my mobile number. Possibly as I already have a booking? Starting to panic that V&A won't be able to get hold of me to confirm our booking.

And be ready for your credit card company fraud department to call you when you have just made your first booking and have a list as long as your arm to get through.

I've never had that problem, was it recent?

It is no longer 180+10, it is 180 + length of stay. So if you are only staying 7 nights then maybe 5 offsite you can only do 180+7 and would need to do the other 5 nights later. We learned this as we have a split stay with Universal in the middle an had to boo our return to WDW later

So is it now 180+14 nights if onsite for 14 nights?

Will be good if thats the case!

As far as I am aware, it's always been 180+length of stay. With 10 days being the mximum number you can book at once. We have never been able to book longer than our onsite duration.

I'd assumed it doesn't make any kind of charge until you miss or cancel within 48 hours., I've not seen any £1 Pre-Auths on my account.

Last visit. Maybe its just this particular CC company being very vigilant.

I have never had pre-authorisation either. No charge is made against the card unless you don't show up.

@Pinkgirl by any chance was it a pre-paid meal like Cinderell'a Royal Table or Hoop Dee Doo? That is the only reason why a charge would have been made against your card.

No, not a prepaid meal. The CC company said that $1 had been applied for on my card and they needed to check if it was me.

When using certain cards companies are required to make a pre authorisation amount to authenticate. The company in this place never plan to take the amount. This amount is usually 1 unit so $1 or £1. So the request is as follows.

Disney: Is there $1 available?
Bank: Yes there is $1 available
Bank: Bank holds $1 in readiness for a transaction
Disney: Drops the transaction

A good bank will then drop the transaction all together however those with limited systems sometimes holds that money in a pending state for up to week waiting for the request to authorise to come through. So you get a deduction in available funds.

Not such a problem when it's $1 but the GF's mum had £1800 in limbo due to a failed transaction. Told her to switch banks.
