News Round Up 2016

Double super boo...

We never got to meet Vader either, and none of us like Kylo Ren. In fact, DS just had a SW birthday party. The only SW balloons in stock at the party store were Kylo Ren. DS opted for no SW balloons. I guess I'm doing something right as a parent;)

I don't understand the hate - I think the Jungle Book looks like it will be pretty epic.

It looks horrendous...cgi nonsense.

Gigantic orangutans...gigantic bears...gigantic tigers...ninja moves...

Oh never mind.

My god...that's awful. They might as well call it "the fast and the rainforest"

Apparently Jungle Book was extremely well received at D23 last year (probably the second best reception after Force Awakens). I'm just concerned that they'll take away the charm of the original film.

Well considering how many of these they are pumping out in the next few years I think it's look ok. I liked what they did with Cinderella so I think this has some potential as well.

Jeez...

What was the reception for Tomorrowland? John Carter? The Lone Ranger?...

You see where the ship is drifting here?

Well, I'd argue that those films never received that much attention anyways. I see jungle book on an Alice in Wonderland level.

I don't think CGI is inherently bad, although it certainly can be. From what I've seen it's use in this movie is really well done. I don't recall any ninja moves. This will certainly have much more depth than the Fast and the Furious. Frankly, I think you're only seeing what you want to see - what will fit into your snarky, crotchety internal narrative about how everything is crap. That's your right, but it might behoove you to keep at least a little bit of an open mind - at least until you see the finished project.

Not everything. That did not look good. It may be that the trailer was done really poorly. That's possible.

The proof is in the pudding at this point. We shall see.

Crotchety...that's good. Carbon date me...if you please.

I'm not for excuses for poor quality. Neither should any fan be.

Hard to take D23 receptions as having any objectivity...is it not?

I wouldn't expect attendees at a Star Trek convention to hate Klingons either.
