I'm So Upset I Didn't Get To Meet Mulan & Mushu

Hi,

I am so upset yesterday that I didn't get to meet Mulan and Mushu because of that stupid long line! UGH! What in the heavens to betsy is wrong with these people? I mean, I appreciate that Mulan has fans, but they ruined my chance to meet Mulan and Mushu because of that long line. Even the cast member told me it won't be a garaunteed you meet them. And he or she is right! I waited in line in a hour to meet them and I almost got them, but I didn't, so I left the line very upset. At least, the lines for Viva Navidad is not that long. Next year, I'm going to try come early to meet them before that long line comes again.

Okay, I'm sorry that my rant is over the top. I'm just upset and disappointed. If I want to try again next year, what should I do?

How else would you suggest they organize these lines than the people who get there first get to meet them? It's just like ride lines. You have to priorititze and pick which ones you want to do first.

Well, I'm sorry. But I'm just upset that I didn't get to meet them.

Yup. That is how lines work. Disappointment understood, but it is no ones fault.

How to ensure you meet them? You get to the parks early, ask when/where they will be, and get to that place before they show up. The other people did nothing wrong--they just put the characters at a higher priority than you did, and they were rewarded for it. It's Disneyland; there are going to be lines. It's your choice if you decide to wait in that line (or any other).

I understand you are mad... But at the same time, it's not fair to blame the others that were there. What if they were here reading this? Being told that they are "evil" because they got in a line before you?

I know, it's nobody's fault. I didn't believe everything I said. I'll just have to wait next year to find a better way to meet them. Maybe going on saturday is probably too crowded.

You seem to get disappointed about meeting characters. It's never a guaranteed thing. Everyone there wants to meet them, and of course the characters can't stay out there all day long!

I fix my post. but I didn't say people are evil, I said line is evil, but I guess that might be the same thing. I guess I was busy trying to get Jiminy Cricket. Maybe that's the problem.

I try to avoid weekends because of the volume of people in the parks.
Lots of People = LONG LINES

TsWade2 try for a week day the next time you go to an AP event. Get there early and I'm sure the lines will be a little better.
I have found this to work well for me. Good Luck

We waited over an hour on Friday morning. They change the characters every 1/2 hour, so we saw Mickey/Minnie, Mushu, then back to Mickey Minnie, who we got. I was hoping for Chip and Dale, but we were 5 minutes too soon, they came out 2 families after we got to the front. I was told I could not let a couple of families go ahead of us to get Chip and Dale. (Ironically, I was hoping NOT to get Mulan, as we have seen her at Epcot a few times).

Mulan hangs around near the turnstiles sometimes, but Mushu is definitely more elusive! We have hit and miss luck with catching characters, and there have been lots of times we've seen the CM at the end of the line, closing it off, and known we missed the opportunity that time. It is sometimes disappointing, but we keep coming back for more! Good luck next time!

Try to allow for more time in your schedule, too. Sometimes you can get so close to the front of the line, but then the characters have to take their legally mandated break. We've asked CMs if we could step out of line at that point to let other people go ahead of us until the character we wanted reappeared. Most CMs have been fine with that and have allowed us back into the line later. We make it clear that we aren't trying to cut in line and that we are totally willing to wait however long to see a certain character. As others have said, whether or not you get to see the character you want isn't anyone's fault. It just takes time and patience and a bit of pixie dust.

If you had been successful meeting them, would you have wanted people behind you to be mad at you?

What do you mean what is wrong with these people? They were doing the same thing you wanted to do. Why does that make them wrong?
