Has anyone ever taken preloaded injection medication to the USA?

Hi just wondered since my last trip I've been placed on Methotrexate weekly injections. I have to inject myself. They look like epi pens. I've taken tablets & letters from gp in the past, but was wondering what happens with injections & security ?
Thanks

I take Heparin preloaded serynges on each trip.

Keep them in their original packaging, with a copy of your prescription. Carry on only. keep the original prescription on you with your documents.

I put the boxes in a clear ziplock bag (large one as they won't fit in the regulation size bag.

At security, I just take the plastic bag out of my carry on bag, and place it with my stuff in a plastic bin. No one ever bat an eye.

Thanks that's good to know. I've spoken to disneys member services and they said they can put a sharpies bin in the room, so I can dispose of them once injected.

Didn't think of that
mine are safety serynges, the tip fully retracts and is sealed inside the body on the serynges once injected. But it's nice to know they can provide the hazmat boxes.

I have,
I also had to be prepared when for 2 trips I was going to have a picc line in, disney offered a sharps bin,
When I took injectable through I just had a letter and the prescription.
Ziplock bag and nothing was said.

My mum has to have blood thinning injections before long haul flight travel. She would sometimes get those retracting needle ones, but other times not. As stated above, she always packs in hand luggage, with everything in their originally packaging, labelled from the pharmacy and prescription close by. Normally, she just mentions to the person screening the hand baggage that she has an injection in there. They normally just go 'thanks', whiz it through the scanner and off we go. The other thing to remember is that most airlines actually have a sharps bin on board, although you have to ask for it; it's not readily available. And if you get new crew, they might not know where it is as it's not that frequent a request! :)
