We are going from Dec 23rd to Jan 3rd to cover Christmas and our 24th Anniversary. It will be myself, my DH, DD and GDD (6). This will be her 2nd trip.

We have booked a courtyard room, but would like to know which have the better views. We are looking to be on an upper level.

Any suggestions?

I would choose the fourth or fifth floors in a courtyard view room. The sixth floor is a dormer balcony and you have to stand to look out. I really don't like those rooms. But the other floors have open balconies and the view is nice from there. :)

Thanks for this info. I am also booked for next December with a Courtyard view. A little worried about the construction and may switch resorts when discounts come out for that time period (I'm not going the same December week as the original poster--I'm going earlier). I didn't know about the dormer balconies which I would not like--I'll keep this tip in mind. Thanks again!

We really want an open balcony because we want to decorate it for Christmas. We want this trip to be very special. We have wanted to stay at Wilderness Lodge for some time. But it had to be at Christmas. So planning this trip is really important. We want to make sure we do the things we want, but not go overboard. We plan on doing a Character breakfast , but are not sure what other sit down meals we will do.

We had a ground floor courtyard at the end of the southwing building in October and absolutely loved it. Our patio was just off the pool. We walked out our interior door and the building entrance to the pool area was right there. We had a short walk to the beach and boat dock. We moved up to club level on that trip and had a room in the north wing that had a view of Cinderellas castle and the fire works at night. It was nice to try club level but we really didn't get much out of it. By far we enjoyed the courtyard room and location more. If we stay WL again we will definitely ask for that same courtyard room again. After long days at the park the convenience of a short walk to the room is wonderful.
