Proposal at Contemporary. Help with room requests?

Hi, everyone! I am planning on proposing to my girlfriend of two-and-a-half years in a few months when we stay at the Contemporary in a Theme Park View room. My current plan is to propose to her during Wishes, but I want to make sure we have as good of a view for the show as possible.

I was wondering, based on anyone who has stayed there previously or knows the resort really well, what types of requests I should make to hopefully get the best view possible from the room? Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks!

Actually my dd20 loves the rooms with view of castle from the bed. Sorry I can't remember if it's odd or even numbered rooms. Ask on the cr thread. My friend Kook will know(runs it).

The other thing is that rooms towards space mtn vs the end with the convention center have a closer view.

Again , ask on the cr thread .

Good luck ! I don't think you'll need it ! Sound like a nice and caring young man.

Also you may want to consider dining or going for drinks at California Grill and doing it on the rooftop there during Wishes. They pipe in the music and everything!

Thanks, everyone, for the advice so far! Would it be possible to request a room closer to MK, then? Is that a reasonable request?

We actually have an 8:45 p.m. reservation at California Grill that night! I would do it up there, but my girlfriend has a tendency ... to not do very well under pressure in front of a large group of people. I did find out, though, that we can get music piped into the room from the resort's TV channels, which is nice!

Not really. You're dealing with the main tower, so there aren't really any rooms "closer" or "farther" from Magic Kingdom by the nature of Contemporary. The main Tower is just that: A Tower.

I witnessed a proposal during wishes on the terrace in December. It definitely made me cry! No one but me amongst the crowd seemed to notice..l all eyes were on fireworks. In fact, the woman did not notice for a bit! The man was stuck on one knee. I did notice they went back inside immediately... Perhaps getting out of public view. The one benefit to this (totally amazing, beautiful) set up was a waitstaff was prepared with his camera. I get wanting a more private set up, though. How about the beach at Poly as another option? A romantic walk.

A late cg is a great meal.
I will say if you stay in the restraunt during wishes it isn't very crowded most people went out to the deck for the fireworks
I didn't want a lot of attention but wanted pics so I went with . the mickey meet and great

High floor, bed facing MK. That would do it for me.

Perhaps make it back from dinner in time for the Electric Water Pageant, too if you can. Again, the CR thread will be able to tell you the correct time.

Unless Wishes is very late, I think you'll be hard pressed to get back to your room in time for watching fireworks after dinner. Check the park hours. But even 10pm gives you only an hour and 15 min to get seated, eat, and be back to your room. That's not long enough for CG for us. We do drinks and apps, entree, and desserts.

Look into the private dining menu for something special in the room. allears.net shows bottles of wine and some great dessert plates (chocolate, strawberries, etc) available.

Another idea: do it during the day? Get a cast member photographer to take some photos (maybe have a small slip of paper to hand him/her with the word "Proposal" on it! They'll get it totally! Main street even? Then do some typical poses, then do your proposal and get it caught on a photo! Just a thought....

Either way, I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
