Time from airport to park

I am getting close to my FP planning day (Yay!). Last time we didn't do the parks on our first day, but this time we will be.
Our flight lands at 11:20 at MCO. We are taking the ME to ASSpo. I'm assuming our room won't be ready by then so I think we will probably eat in the food court, have them hold our carry on bags, and head to the MK. What time approximately do you think we will be at the MK?
Thanks in advance!!

Depends on how long you take for lunch. Probably 3 hours after landing.

We once landed at 11:30 and took ME to Pop. Our room was ready and our luggage was there. We quickly re-grouped and made it to the Magic Kingdom by 3:15.

We did have a 45 min wait at the airport for ME. Not sure if that is a standard wait time or not.

Thanks. I figure we will have a relatively quick lunch as we have 5 and 7 year old sons who will be chomping at the bit to get to do something fun! Maybe
I'll do fast passes from 3:30 on to be safe.

On our first trip to Disney in January of 2015, our flight was scheduled to arrive at MCO around noon. I can't remember the exact time, but we planned to go to MK after we checked in to our hotel (POR). We made our first fast pass reservations around 4:00 I think. Well, that would have worked, but our flight was delayed by a couple of hours due to weather. We ended up getting to MCO around 2:00 and we missed our first fast passes. It seemed like we were rushing that whole evening to try to make up time. The next time around, we are going to give ourselves plenty of time and book our fast passes for later that night. Just thought I would pass that along.

Thanks. I hadn't really thought about a flight delay. I'm going to just have to have the mindset of being ok if we miss a FP slot. I don't think we will be at the park too late into the evening b/c I expect my little ones (and my 69 year old parents) will be probably be ready for bed early since we will all have had an early morning (our flight leaves Boston at 6 am).

Yes, that would work. You can book the fast passes and if you get there in time to use them, then great. If not, it's no big deal. We tried to fit too much into our first night there because it was our first trip and were excited to be there.

This is one of the major advantages of FP+. You can reserve some attractions late in the evening.

We drive most times starting out in Atlanta that morning. Not knowing what traffic would be like or if we would get a flat, etc, we scheduled our first FP around 5:00 PM while we expected to be at our resort at 2:30 or so. It worked well for us. We were not rushing to get to the park and had the room set up for our late return that night.

Or I can cite the last time we flew.

- We had to change planes in ATL which, apparently, requires a flight delay.
- My bag was shipped to Newark. I had to fill out paperwork at the airport.
- Our reserved four passenger car somehow turned into a 12 passenger van. (Shades of Seinfeld - below)
- Our reservation at Disney was messed up.

Delays can happen.
