How has Minnie's Holiday Dine been?

I read just a few reviews of Minnie's when it first started, and they were mostly positive. Has anyone experienced it recently, and could you give feedback? Still on the fence about this ADR bc we're paying oop... Specifically, food quality, decor, character interaction, wait time past adr, etc. thanks!

We were there on Saturday, 11/14. We had a 4:15 reservation and sat on the patio outside watching them change things around for the holiday dinner. Specifically, the meet & greet area just inside the door. The backdrop was changed to a holiday theme, gift packages were placed around the sides of the m&g area, etc. There were signs up on the pillars in the restaurant with the Minnie's Holiday Dine logo. There were some of those retro silver Christmas trees & garlands all around. The desserts were fabulously festive & holiday themed.

Our character interaction was great. But I chalk a lot of that up to our dining time. We were one of the first families seated for dinner, and we were put in the area where the characters start their rotation. About 5 minutes after we sat down, they started. And since there weren't many other tables filled yet, they got to us pretty quickly. And since they didn't have many tables AFTER us yet, they hung around a little bit. At least, WE never felt rushed with any of them. We ended up meeting all the characters first, just so we could visit the buffet without the stress of maybe missing a character. Once the restaurant started filling, they would keep circling around. After the second visit, they started remembering us, so they'd just stop long enough to "ask" if the food was good or to just wave for a second and pat one of us on the shoulder. (After our first interaction, we just waved at them, said "hi again!" and didn't get up, so they were probably picking up on our cues to go ahead and pass by, too.)

Our interaction with Santa goofy at the beginning was good, too. He tried to offer me one of Minnie's Christmas presents that was nearby since I was wearing my birthday button. From where we were seated, we could see other families as they came in and it looked like everyone was enjoying their time with him. I never got the impression that anyone looked or felt rushed.

The food was good. But I never go to buffets (especially at a theme park) with extraordinarily high expectations, so take that with a grain of salt. I enjoyed the beef more than the pork (which is the opposite of what I normally prefer). The salmon was good. LOVED the meatballs. And the mashed potatoes. I even enjoyed the lobster & shrimp mac & cheese....and I don't like cheese. LOL

Loved the holiday outfits the characters were wearing, too. Mickey & Donald were very dapper while Minnie & Daisy were very sparkly. The whole experience just made me smile and put me in a very festive mood. I think it's a dining experience we would definitely do again!

Hope you have fun!

We were there 11/16 and I did not like it. I disliked it so much that I cancelled our reservation for the Minnie Dinner in Jan. I thought the food was bland and the restaurant was nothing special to make up for the bland food. The interaction with the characters was good. We did see the characters multiple times. We had a 4:25 reservation and were one of the first people in the restaurant.

We were very disappointed with this dinner. We loved the "Create Your Pasta" and it was not available but maybe because it was Thanksgiving. There was stuffing, green bean casserole, and turkey at the place where the pasta used to be.
The pretzel bread was good, though.

We had a blast. A great waiter and lots of character interaction. Food wasn't the greatest but good enough. My 13 year old daughter loved it as much as our 4 year old grand daughter. Great seats for Fantasmic after.

There's a good amount of character interaction time with all but Santa Goofy stopping by the table multiple times over the course of dinner. If you're seated in the "front" (by the windows) space is a little tight as far as getting photos with the characters... it's a little more spacious in the center area of the restaurant. There are no character autographs during the dinner, you'll be given a small Holiday Card that's been pre-signed by all the characters.

Hollywood and Vine is not really a quick place to eat though. The wait past check-in always seem to be a good 15-miuntes, no matter if you check-in early, late, or right on time. Guests seem to linger here more than at other buffets. The "Minnie's Holiday Dine" is no different. So tag on another 15 minutes to however long you plan on eating!

I've always found the food to be quite good at Hollywood and Vine, but as cincystamper (above) mentioned, that's "for a buffet". It's not made to order, multi-process culinary… so as long as you go in expecting American standard buffet fare… you'll be happy with the food. If you're specifically asking how Minnie's Holiday Dine compares with Hollywood and Vine's "normal" dinner (which they aren't doing anymore)… it's about the same. The changes have been minor. Instead of Corn Spoon Bread, there's Cornbread Stuffing… instead of Citrus BBQ Chicken, there's Apricot Roasted Pork. It's all going to come down to personal taste. (The pasta station mentioned above is only available for lunch.) The desserts are all Holiday themed, which was cool, but all fall into the mini-tart, mini-cupcake, classification. There are no "keep warm" type of desserts on the menu.

There's a ton of photos for Minnie's Holiday Dine here… http://goo.gl/gOrUHp

We were there yesterday and had a blast! Food was great - we would go in a blink again!!! Enjoy!!

I'm so excited for our upcoming dinner here...hope the food is good!! I stalked the site for the reservation for weeks since this is a last minute trip.

Has anyone had any luck paying with a Disney Visa and getting the 10 percent off they advertise for Hollywood and Vine?

Yes... I didn't even know about it and they took 10% off the total when I used the Disney Visa card. This was the "normal" Minnie's Holiday Dine and not the Fantasmic Package... I only mention that because I'm not sure if it makes a difference, or not???

We ate there on opening night and really enjoyed it. The characters were fantastic and we really liked the food. The deserts pictured above are different than the ones we had, so those may rotate. We had a great server too.

We had a great dinner there on Nov 13th! Food was much better than I expected and character interaction was great. All the characters came to our table 2x within an hour. My kids had a blast!

We are there last Saturday. It was OK. Character interaction was good. Minnie skipped our table in her rotation and our waiter told her handlers. I don't think they believed me. We waited to go get dessert because we knew she would come to us next like all the other characters. They wanted us to wait until she went all through the restaurant again. I was not pleased because we wanted to head over to Osborn lights before Fantasmic. Anyway they did bring Minnie to us and even offered to take a photo of us with my camera so I could be in the picture (I am always behind the camera). The food was ok. I liked the beef and lobster/shrimp Mac and cheese. My daughter loved that too. Wasn't good enough for us to return unless there is a very special character meet and greet though.

We went on thanksgiving and enjoyed it. The character interaction was typical of a character meal. There were photopass photographers at the entrance to take your pic with Santa goofy. We were seated just a few minutes after checking in. It was thanksgiving, so the menu was a little different from your typical menu, so I won't say much there. The desserts were great. Loved the pretzel rolls, and will admit, a few of them stowed away with me in my bag for a late night snack:rotfl2:

We were there on 11/23. The character interaction was great. We were squeezed into a corner but they somehow made it work. The food was just okay. We had it with the Fantasmic package. It was the most expensive mean of our trip. I am glad we did it once, but I don't think we will do it again.
