Southwest Boarding Pass Question .....

Hi Everyone! I already printed out my boarding pass, and don't have the time to research this question that I know has been asked before ......

I know that there is something printed on the boarding pass that gets one through the line much more quickly. At the moment, I just cannot remember what that was. I know that the "RR" means "Rapid Rewards". The other thing is "TSA PRE". Does that one mean that I can get on the quicker security line? Thanks So Much !

tsa pre is it's own line, just look for the sign. If your BP has it listed just go to that line. If your with family they can not go with you unless their BP also has TSA PRE listed.

"TSA PRE" has supposedly been shut down by the TSA and not longer offered if you have not registered and paid for pre check.

I thought that too but got one in October on American and was able to use the TSA pre-check line.

Thanks! I forgot to mention, I always vacation solo. I know my home airport never had that line to begin with, but they did have that line last year in Orlando. No, I did not register for it, nor have I ever paid for it. I did get it three Decembers in a row, and I didn't even know what it was. I have gone to WDW every early December for about 15 years now. When I come back NEXT Wednesday, I will let you know. Thanks!

From the pre faq:

  • Family members ages 12 and under traveling with an eligible parent or guardian with a TSA Pre✓® indicator on their boarding pass can participate in expedited screening.

Last month I got an e-mail from SWA saying I've been approved for TSA pre-check. I didn't apply for anything. It's supposed to work on flights I book in the future, so it might not work on my Christmas flights.

It was announced in late October that TSA was going to curtail or stop anyone from using PreCheck that had not registered for it. Here: http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.com/2015/09/17/free-tsa-precheck/

Just google this : Free TSA Pre-Check Is Officially Over
If it's printed on your boarding pass, then you can use the line. It hasn't been "shut down."

TSA-PRE means you get to use the pre-check line, leave your shoes on, and leave computers and your 3-1-1 liquids in your bag.

If you have A+ status, you can use the "premium passenger" line, which is just a shorter wait for normal screening.

TSA has not shut down pre check for people that have registered and paid for it. They are stopping the program where they allowed people into the pre check line even if they had not registered and paid.

That's still not true. They announced they were going to limit the inclusion through unpaid channels. But they haven't not closed them off. Southwest just gave me free precheck due to my status with them, and American has offered it to me, also.

Our experience, as well.
They can "say" they are closing them, but I sort of doubt tons of folks are eagerly paying. It will be interesting to see how this evolves in the coming weeks and months.

we got TSA PRE passes on DELTA flights two weeks ago and never paid or applied for

curiously we both had PRE on the way up, but DW had it back but I did not.

Given that we were using very low volume airports both times it was kind of funny ..... OK, on the way back I had to take off my shoes.....

Were you notified by SW or just got a TSA PRE on a boarding pass ?

Southwest sent me an email about it about three weeks ago. It's irrelevant for me since I've already enrolled in the Global Entry program and get precheck anyway.
