Still lots of rehearsals going on at school. The show is next week!

I really need to get my act together and start preparing for Christmas. So far I have bought my Christmas cards and a tub of Heroes so I still have quite a bit to do. :crazy:
 
I've nearly finished Christmas gift shopping, just got to sort some photos for a calender. Its been hard for me to come up with ideas for people of what to get me as I usually just buy stuff I want through the year.
 
Hello all. I'm not sure if there's anyone here who remembers me from about ten (15?) years ago when there used to be Sunday evening chats. I even was lucky to meet some of the great people in person while visiting London from Chicago. We had our own little Dis meet in Hampsted. Just wondering if anyone is still around? Love to join in on your chats sometimes.

I do recognise you but only from the boards not from meeting you. I did try joining in the Sunday chats but couldn't keep up with the speed of the conversation.

Nice to hear from you again.
 
Well, my Christmas tree is now up. I think this must be the earliest I've ever put the decorations up. So that's just the cleaning to do, the Christmas shopping to get, the meals to plan ... at least I've sent (most) of my Christmas cards!

Hi everyone! Life has been manic recently so I feel like a stranger on the boards again. I hope you are all having a lovely time and enjoying all the festive-ness

I saw star wars yesterday. Definitely worth the price of admission for me! That's all I'll say on it.
 
I did my "final shop" at Tesco on Tuesday and spent £60 just on bits and pieces of food and drink. But I had to do another "final, final shop" this morning and spent another £60!

I hope that will see us through until next Wednesday as I don't think I want to visit a supermarket ever again! I've just wrapped up all the presents and only have a bit of tidying up to do before being ready for Christmas :)

Did our final Christmas shop last night, looked like a bomb had hit some of the aisles. Had to get my mums prescription today but the shopping centre was busy but I parked easily.

Working Christmas and Boxing Day so having Christmas Sunday.

Morning all

I know I have been absent again a lot but Ive had an ongoing illness which has been taking up some of my time, and my mum is not too great at present so along with working full time as well, my hours are limited to come on here. I wish the forum was a little busier as then I could ask for an additional moderator to help out and keep
things going when Im not about, but its far too quiet to warrent 2 mods, so my promise to myself is to try and spend a little more time on here going forward. Easier said than done sometimes, but I will try my best.:crazy2::chat:

Sorry you haven't been well Sue - take care of yourself. I hadn't realised you were the only mod for this forum as it used to be easy on the old style boards to see who was mod for which site but i can't see it now. Fortunately everyone is friendly on this side of the Dis so you don't need to spend ages trawling through threads deleting comments like I imagine happens on some other sites. I don't post here often now but do read on a regular basis and know Elaine and Nikki post here regularly as well so Im sure its been in good hands for you.

Its freezing here this morning, took me over 15 mins to de-ice the car this morning! It is lovely and sunny though, a proper crisp winter's day. They do forecast snow later this week, but hopefully not here:cold:

Sad news in the music world this week with the loss of David Bowie, I thought his music was wonderful and I was so sad and shocked to hear of his passing:sad1:

I'm currently enjoying my week off work, will also make a start on an online course i'm doing for work and have been putting it off. Also looking at prices for a trip to NYC. Its nice an sunny here too, wasn't cold enough to freeze my car though.

Alan Rickman has died. How very sad... I had no idea he was unwell. Its such a shame :sad2:

Yes its been a bad couple of weeks with so many sad celebrity deaths, first Lemmy, then Bowie, the brilliant Alan Rickman and I just heard that Celine Dion's husband as also passed, all due to the dreaded Cancer, I pray one day we find a cure for this dam killer disease.:sad1:
