Can someone tell me about Cabana Bay? Rooms, beds, people, is it similar to POP? I know, very elitist sounding. I just want a sense of the vibe there.

We liked it better than Pop. The rooms felt bigger and were very comfortable. I found the resort to be very quiet. We only went to the food court once because City Walk is so close. The bus ride to the park was 3 minutes. We also walked back one night and it took about 15-20 mins. It was well-lit and a nice stroll. We really enjoyed staying at CB.

Cabana bay resort is bright and colorful but not childish. There are lots of lounges and places to hang out. We liked it better than Pop. They paid attention to details and design cues of the 50's and 60's. The rooms are a good size. In the standard you get a small refrigerator. In the suite, a small yet serviceable kitchenette. Bus service is fabulous

I even had a member of my party take a day off from the park to spend more time at the resort.

Also Pop doesn't have a lazy river

I'd say it was more like a mod at WDW. There are a few good threads here all about Cabana Bay that should give you some good insight.

We have stayed art of animation mermaid room and all star movies x2. We have stayed twice at cabana bay and prefer cabana bay. Rooms are bigger.

The resort itself feels superior to a disney value. The pool with lazy river and extras like bowling and s'mores help.

We saw a real mix of people, families, couples, all ages.

It is very bright and clean. Foodcourt is very similar to a disney value set up. Bus service is far better than disney - usually 0 wait for a bus.

SO MUCH BETTER THAN POPC. Yes, I shouted that. PopC has got to be my least favorite Disney value. Cabana Bay is much closer to a Moderate Resort at Disney and it's all in one building. The pools are deluxe status. The food court had good choices. And there is a lot more going on at CB than a value resort usually gets (fitness center, bowling alley, fire pits, game tables, etc). The rooms are more like a Moderate resort with comfy beds.

We stayed at POP and AoA. Pop's our favorite ... well ... "was" ... until we spent one night at CBB last october (I was about to say "last month" but realised it was december already.... **whines**)

Lazy river ... I could stop here ... absolutely fabulous

We stayed in a tower suite. For a very small fee on top of a standard, you get separate living space, small kitchenette, and to be honest, it's so much better than spending your vacations all crammed in one room. Feels like home.

The food court was a good surprise, and it will even save us some money on our next trip ... well ... Sci-Fi dine in was a must do for DS ... until he found out that the food court at CBB had big screens with the same kind of commercials and 50s/60s stuff. And we can have it every day, ain't that great ? :p

Our one nighter last month 2 months ago was a test drive if you will. We liked it so much that we'll be spending 11 nights next august (in a suite)

standard room compare to Pop century. But I agree with the PPs who say that ammenities are one level up at CBB.

Let me add something just got back from a pre-Christmas vacay at CBBR. They had Holiday elves giving candy to the kids one evening. Another evening they had a child choir come and sing Xmas carols in the lobby. And decorated beautifully and appropriate to the decades of the 50's and 60's. Not every evening but I'm trying to recall if I experienced anything like that at Pop and I can't even recall.

Have to agree on the beds. Pop's were as hard as a rock. CBBR's are really comfortable.

We stayed at Pop and Cabana Bay last week and there is no question that Cabana Bay is much nicer. You get two nice pool areas, one with a lazy river and one with a slide. There is a huge food court area and another poolside restaurant and a few bar areas and a Starbucks. There is also an arcade and bowling and a Jack Lalanne fitness center. The rooms are very comfortable and well laid out with a nice touch of whimsy to the decorations. There was also a lot going on while we were there.

Most importantly (to us) the bus service was outstanding. We never waited anywhere except in a bus and then only briefly.

I stayed at Cabana Bay for DISapalooza and we loved it! Honestly, if i need a night off site at Disney or anywhere in that area this may be my go to. I agree with PP that this feels more like a Moderate (Disney wise) than a value yet, the price is right. This resort is a resort that you could spend the entire day at and still have things to do. I love the different lounges and pools. Great theme and even better staff!

We are giving it a chance the beginning of February. We have stayed at both HardRock and RPR. We did do the tower suite. We are pretty excited and have been loving the tips like bringing our own tubes for the lazy river. I will post back with some thoughts after our trip.

The Bayliner Diner and the Hideaway dining section is excellent. I've had pretty good food. For Breakfast I had a Belgian Waffle it was large and had whip cream and fresh strawberries. It was really tasty. Also a huge plate of hummus and pita it was lovely.

Anyone been to Fresco Italian Restaurant? It looks like it's a short walk out the back of Cabana Bay Resort.

I was talking about the one right by Cabana Bay. Or is it inside Cabana Bay? On the map it looks like it's on the road, address says 6703 Turkey Lake Rd.

That doesn't exist. It is only parking lot there. If you go to googlemaps and click on that where it shows right behind Cabana Bay, it gives you the link to the other restaurant, www.frescoorlando.com.

If you google that address as well it gives you the phone number of the restaurant that is further down the road.

Thanks, strange that it still shows up on the map. I guess that we won't be eating there. I guess we will stick with the restaurants at Universal.

We love Cabana Bay. We are Disney Vacation Club member so we usually sty at Animal Kingdom or the Polynesian or Bay Lake Tower at Disney..and we loved Cabana Bay! Even my picky husband liked it!!
