I didn't help that I watched the movie over 3 nights either!I'll pay more attention when I see it again :). I still don't know how all the characters fit together.

OK- this gets a bit complicated:

Billy Mack and Joe aren't connected to any stories, but the Christmas song/video is spread throughout the movie.

Karen is married to Harry. Her older brother is David, the Prime Minister. David likes Natalie, who lives next door to Mia, who works with Harry. Natalie's siblings go to the same school as Karen and Harry's kids.

Daniel is friends with Karen. He is recently widowed, and he likes Carol, whose son goes to school with Sam. Sam goes to school with Karen's kids. He is in love with Joanna.

Karen's husband, Harry, works with Mia, Carl, and Sarah. Sarah is friends with Peter and Juliet, and Jamie.

Jamie falls in love with Aurelia.

Mark is friends with Peter, Juliet, Mia, and Jamie. He owns the art gallery where Harry's company has their Christmas party.

Colin is a waiter for the catering company that serves both Juliet and Peter's wedding and the Christmas party at Mark's gallery.

Colin is best friends with Tony, who works with John and Judy (the naked body doubles).

I think that about covers it! :rotfl:

I am going to print this off for when I see the movie again :worship:.

Adding a bit I forgot about earlier...

Mia wants to have an affair with Harry. Harry buys her a necklace, which Rufus wraps.

Rufus holds up the security line and Sam escapes into the airport.

Sarah loves Carl, but her institutionalized brother Michael keeps them from getting together.

Colin meets Stacy, Jeannie and Carol-Ann at a bar in America. He brings Harriet back to England, along with her sister, Carla, who kisses Tony.

John has nieces and nephews who go to school with Sam and Karen's kids.

I think that fully explains everyone's connections! :cheer2:

I'm sure that for many people on here (like me), the issue probably doesn't have to do with nudity itself, but with the industry (porn) that the two people are involved in and the somewhat graphic nature of the scenes.

You need to rewatch the movie...they are not porn stars. As I posted up thread...body doubles. They stand nude acting out the scene minimally so that they can get the lighting right so that the big name actors don't have to be nude any longer that necessary(the guy even talks about how he did it for Brad Pitt). I don't watch porn, but I am still pretty confident that in porn movies they don't pretend to have sex with each other...they actually have sex with each other:laughing:

Apparently, I posted last year but still the same answer:

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!!!!

I've seen it, don't remember it very well. Didn't hate it...just don't remember.

It's my favorite movie - Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Andrew Lincoln, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Rodrigo Santoro, Alan Rickman...all in their prime. Eye candy for the women!

It is one of my favorite romantic comedies and makes me cry every time I watch it. I also have to rewind Hugh Grant's dancing scene at least four times-how one man can be so appealing is beyond me-LOL.

I agree that not every movie needs to be family friendly-what a ridiculous notion!

I agree! I'm surprised that people think that way.

Thanks to this thread I want to see this movie again. I think it's fun.

I just saw it recently... I think on Netflix. I will probably see it a few more times this season. I really enjoy the story lines and how they all tie in to each other without the characters being in each others' back pockets.

For some reason, I thought Daniel & Karen were siblings, but now realize that that's silly. Need to watch it again.

DH and I were hooked with the line by Bill Nighy... "****, *ank, bugger, **s, ***tting, head and hole"...

Omg we repeat that to each other as an inside joke!

No, it's not a sappy "Christmas" movie, but it sure breaks up the monotony of other holiday movies...

If I have to see Jim Carey's Grinch or Tom Hanks train movie one more time I'll go bananas!!!

Ps it's rated R... Someone in the first page compared this movie to POTC? Are you kidding me?

Started reading this thread (first and last page) before I realized it was old, so if I "liked" your year-old post out of the blue, that's why!

Anyway, I voted "other" because I've never "actually" seen it, but was curious because I'd heard it mentioned on another thread.

Yes, I thought that too. But I also realize now, that doesn't make sense because that would make Daniel and the Prime Minister brothers.

I voted no - but I probably should have voted other. I tried to watch this thing and just couldn't hold out. I caved and did something interesting instead. If I had been able to hang in there, I might have enjoyed it.

I liked this movie, but I don't think of it as a Christmas movie. I'll never understand why people think of something as a "Christmas movie" just because it is set around Christmas. Movies that are about Santa, Jesus, common holiday characters (Frosty, Grinch, Scrooge, etc) are, to me, Christmas movies. Just because Christmas happens during the movie doesn't make it a Christmas movie to me.

Mostly, I think of this as a "chick-flick" and I DEFINITELY wouldn't be letting my middle-schooler watch it!

I was just thinking of this movie last night! I'm going to set my DVR to record it and watch it with MomofKatie's cheat sheet :).
