Will these rides give me motion sickness?

I'm going to both Universal Orlando parks in a week, and I have not been there before. I've just been to Universal Hollywood, also Disneyland and Six Flags. I'm wondering if anyone can help me figure out the likelihood of certain rides making me sick based on my past experiences:

Six Flags: nearly everything I rode at this park makes me sick, I went once and never again.

Disneyland/California Adventure: I will not ride anything that spins in circles like Tea Cups. I will not ride California Screamin'. I will sometimes ride Space Mountain and Tower of Terror, but I'm sometimes a little sick coming off them. I do not enjoy motion simulators like Star Tours or Soarin', they've never made me particularly ill, but dizzy and I don't enjoy it. I don't have a problem with other roller coasters like Indy, Thunder Mt, or Matterhorn, I will ride these repeatedly.

Universal Hollywood: only been once as a kid, we only rode a few rides, but I don't remember any of them making me sick.

Based on this and my research, I've already decided I will not ride these rides:

Simpsons
Despicable Me
Hulk
Dragon Challenge
Rip Ride Rockit

Here's my question...I'm wondering based on my experience, do you think I should ride these rides that I would like to ride but am not sure about:

Spider-Man
Revenge of the Mummy
Transformers
Escape from Gringotts
Forbidden Journey
MIB

Thanks for your help!

Thing is, everyone reacts differently to different rides with motion sickness, so what makes me bad may not make you bad.

In saying that, I would definitely avoid FJ. It is fairly common with people with these issues to feel bad. I can do it once maybe twice and I'm done.

Gringotts had no effect on me at all, I can do this many times in a row and I don't think we've seen anyone say it affected them in that way. It's quite smooth and you are more swooshed around rather than hurled anywhere......slight turns as you move along the track but they are gentle.

Spider-Man has a spinny bit........I do the ice skaters trick and focus on one spot as it turns.......works for me. I never close my eyes as it makes it worse "for me".......again others find closing their eyes helps them.......not me. For some reason Transformers did get me this year a bit.........although it is basically same ride as Spider-Man......normally doesn't affect me, but it was very bumpy.

Revenge of the Mummy is fast at the coaster part......doesn't have a spinny part although the track does turn you slowly around at one point........it shouldn't have any effect on you.

MIB does spin a few times.........I struggle with this ride more than once or twice......but sometimes once is enough.........

Simpsons you are correct to avoid. It's bad. Will never ride it again..........

DM has no effect on me at all.........

The rest of your list I can ride with no issues at all........RRR is quite smooth if you sit at the front........Hulk is closed for massive refurb and Duelling Dragons I find quite smooth anyway, but yes it will throw you all sorts of ways........fantastic ride!

Hope you manage to have a fantastic trip :)

Does Dramamine or Bonine help at all? Definitely take some each morning before going to the parks and attractions that 'might' be trouble, won't be. The rougher rides, I'd still avoid.

I do have some problems with motion sickness. I'd set the list this way for you--- At Universal/IOA, the roller coasters are out (including Hippogriff). Simpsons is out. Spiderman/Transformers are on the might list. Despicable Me is not a problem. Mummy is a might. Gringotts is not a problem. FJ is a might.

I second HM's suggestion to try a bonine to ease the sickness. I can't ride a lot of stuff without motion sickness meds but can ride pretty much everything with them.

Spider-Man.....3D Motion..if you feel sick, close your eyes.
Revenge of the Mummy....no worse than Thunder Mountain except it's dark.
Transformers.....like Spiderman
Escape from Gringotts....Great ride....don't skip
Forbidden Journey....it's a bit intense...but would do it at least once!!!
MIB...like Buzz Lightyear...spinning is not bad.

Despicable Me....it's fun...as with any 3D simulation, just shut your eyes if you feel a little woozy! No need to skip this one! Seats don't move around a track or spin.

I did not take anything for motion sickness and rode everything except the upside down coasters and RRR. 3D gives me a headache even at the movie theater but I tolerated it. We didn't ride Simpsons but I would have...just not a fan. I would take some Bonine as others have mentioned. Be sure to take some the night before. These rides are too awesome to skip!

My sister suffers from motion sickness and here's what she experienced:

Spider-Man: no issues at all :)
Revenge of the Mummy: gave her motion sickness, could only ride once
Transformers: no issues :)
Escape from Gringotts: she loved it, no motion sickeness :)
Forbidden Journey: I agree it could be a little intense, she rode it twice but could not handle a third one. She almost got sick the second time.
MIB: she could not handle it, tbh I diodn't like it either. I thought it was way more than buzz.
Simpsons ride: she could handle ir pretty well :)

I am susceptible to motion sickness and take ginger root pills daily while at WDW/Universal. I am able to ride all of the below, but do need to close my eyes and will find my palms getting sweaty on some:

Spider-Man - not bad, needed to close eyes at some parts
Revenge of the Mummy - no issues at all, more of a rollercoaster (love this ride!)
Transformers - similar to Spider Man both as a ride and how I reacted to it (needing to close my eyes)
Escape from Gringotts - no issues
Forbidden Journey - definitely needed to close my eyes at some points. It also feels like a longer ride, but maybe because sometimes I'm waiting for it to be over!
MIB - This one is fun but there's several points where your ride vehicle whips you in consecutive circles. I hate it and close my eyes and feel funny for a few seconds after. Of all of the ones mentioned in this list, this would be my least recommended one.

My issues are spinning and some 3D. I can handle coasters with no issues. I wear my sea bands in order to do Forbidden Journey, as the screen parts bother me. It has non-screen parts breaking it up, so that helps me. However, my daughter and I both got vomit on us due to an earlier passenger on FJ this past Sunday. So - be very careful if you decide to try that one.

For Spider-man, I have to close my eyes in one part and otherwise can handle it. I can handle transformers. I have to close my eyes for part of Simpsons.

I have no issues with Mummy or Gringotts. I somehow can manage MIB, even though I can't handle a carousel. Storm force accelerator is one I can't even watch, forget about going on it.

Despicable Me has a little looking away. I found no difference in moving vs stationary seats as far as dizziness/nausea.

I can handle regular coasters so RRR, dragon challenge, and hulk were no issues. Hulk is closed right now though.

Thanks for your help, everyone! Can anyone tell me how Spider-Man, Forbidden Journey, and Transformers compare to Star Tours at WDW? I've ridden that one lots of times, and it does make me a little dizzy, and because of that I'm not really a fan of the ride, but it's not going to make me vomit or anything. I would really like to ride Spider-Man or Forbidden Journey, but if they're more intense than Star Tours, then maybe not.

I can handle star tours most of the time, but need to look away from the screen at times. There's only one spot where I need to close my eyes during Spider-Man, so I'd say Star Tours is a little worse for me. (But with Spider-man, I know when that spot is). Forbidden Journey is just so different that it's hard to compare. Since the screen part is broken up, I can handle it with my motion sickness bands. There's no way I would be able to handle it otherwise. I'd say FJ is worse for motion sickness than Star Tours. I have no issues on Trnasformers.

My sister has issues with Star Tours but not Spiderman or Tranformers. Forbidden Journey made her almost vomit once after the second ride (could only handle once).

I can ride Spiderman and Transformers no problem but can't handle Star Tours. I'd put Star Tours and Forbidden Journey on the same motion sickness level.
