photo connect star card

Hi,

I've been reading and researching about the photo connect star card. I see that there is one site that you can get one with a shudderbutton for $100. It says something about videos in Diagon Alley. Has anyone actually done that? It sounds really fun, to be honest, as I'm a big HP fan.

I've looked, but I haven't found anything on the regular US site, so I wanted to be sure it was accurate. I did a search for it but I haven't found a whole lot about it. Thanks!

Thanks! I think it's something I kinda need to try. It's just an extra $100 which turns into at least $125 Canadian right now. Icky!

Anyone know different in will call and a pickup kiosk for the photo card? We're leaving in 8 days so no time to have it delivered. Is one option better than the other?? Thanks!

Just for clarification for others when you preorder it's $100 for Shutterbuttons and 3 day Photo Connect Star Card. The 3 day star card is currently $60 so Shutterbuttons is an "extra" $40. If you didn't want the Star Card I would just wait until you get there. I'm pretty sure you can make the video and decide when you're done if you want to purchase or not, at least they were doing that in January when I was there.

The Shutterbutton video on site is $70, so preordering at the additional $40 is a significant savings. We did it with our 3 daughters, and it came out really nice. As the Dad, I got to play the Sirius Black on the wanted poster, which was hilarious. Make sure to ask for robes though - we forgot, and they didn't volunteer them.

And yes, just preorder from the amazing pictures website. They email you a code that you bring to one of the photoconnect centers inside the park, who then set you up with the star card.

Ooops... Yes the "extra" was for my budget. LOL

I ordered just now through that website. $100 USD turned into $128.36 Canadian. Yucky!

FYI, PhotoConnect says on their Facebook page that in-park pricing is going to go up on Monday - and by quite a bit. For example, the 3-day package that's currently $70 is going to go up to $100. They have not stated if/when their online preorder prices will go up. However, if you're thinking about getting a PhotoConnect package, consider preordering soon!

Glad I bought it today! I got the three day package with the Shutterbuttons side and it was $100. Are ticket rates going up too? I wonder if I should get those now too.

Has anyone heard anything about an AP pkg with Shutterbuttons? The current preorder AP pkg is 89.95 but doesnt include Shutterbuttons. The shutterbuttons pkg is 99.99 but only includes the 3 days. Trying to order before prices jump up even though our current star card is valid until July.

I believe that with a star card Shutterbuttons will cost you a discounted rate of$49.99 in the park, but $69.99 without a star card.

I have a question. Since I haven't been to Universal for a couple of years I can't find the link to preorder the photo connect card for longer than 3 days. I plan to be there for at least 7 days. Is there a option to get more than 3 days?

I am confused a little bit, we are leaving Saturday for a 3 day Universal trip. If I purchase the $60 star card, we can have pictures taken of our group (4 people) for the 3 days we will be in the parks. However, I will not have a computer with me on the trip. Can I still download the pictures after my 3 days are up for example once I get home? I guess my question is is there a time limit for downloading the pictures to a laptop or another computer or do they have to be downloaded within the 3 day time slot?

From what I have read, once you have the card, the pictures remain on the site. This is from a website:

What does “unlimited access” mean? This means that once you have included a photo as part of your collection during the period for which your package is active, you will be able to access that photo and view/download it at any time in the future using the Photo Connect website, which we’ll discuss in a bit, or the mobile app. In this sense, once your photos are part of your account, your access to them never expires.

We just used it and the pictures are available on the website and through the app, Amazing Pictures afterwards. Keep in mind it is three consecutive days. Since we planned on going two days taking a break then returning, it sucked that we really only got two days worth of pictures. I loved the two days worth we got though. All the ride pictures, Spiderman comic, Simpsons couch pictures, Transformers. It was a great deal for us even if we only got two days. They did lose two sets of pictures at the Transformers photo opp place which was a bit frustrating. We have our cell phone pictures but they are not as nice.

I just looked and the pictures from our trip 3 years ago are still on my account online so it looks like there is no time limit.

I can not locate the app through Apple App Store...I tried searching Universal and Amazing Pictures. Any hints?

Also, is $50 still the current price for adding Shutterbuttons for Star card?
