Which to pay OOP staying 10 nights.

Ok, if I am doing this correctly, we have 10 table service credits. We are staying 10 nights so that gives us 10 table service credits right? Please help me figure out which is best to pay OOP. We are going with a little less money then I would like so I want to make sure I figure this out right. Last year when we went, I did not do it right at all and ended up paying 400 OOP. Our reservations are as follows:

Cinderella's Happily Ever After 1900 Park Fare Dinner 1ts
Sci-Fi Dine in Dinner 1ts
Tusker House Breakfast 1ts
Chef Mickey Brunch 1ts
Biergarten Candlelight Processional 2ts
Ohana Dinner 1ts
Akershus Dinner 1ts
Hoop Dee Doo review Catergory 1 Dinner 2 ts
Boma Breakfast 1 ts

Thanks so much for your help.

Agree. Your Sci-Fi should be your least expensive meal, but check the menu to see if anyone might order more than one of your breakfast buffets will cost. The Boma breakfast will be the cheapest meal other than Sci Fi.

If you want some desserts to share at Sci-Fi, you could do some OOP, some DDP and then just do the same at Boma. Just make sure the ones ordering the expensive entree at Sci-Fi use a DDP credit.

If there are kids in the mix, Sci-Fi is definitely the cheapest meal for them. Be sure to pay OOP for the kiddos there.

I agree about Sci-Fi as well. A la carte meals tend to be cheaper than buffets, especially character buffets. Plus paying OOP at Sci-fi will give you more flexibility when ordering because you won't be locked into the entree-drink-dessert dining plan rules. So if someone wants an appetizer instead of an entree, or if you're just not feeling like dessert after the meal, you can order accordingly without thinking about about plan rules or value.

So bad news, I am silly! We are actually only staying 9 days. I don't know what I was thinking last night. So I have to pay out of pocket for 2 credits. =( I think we are going to go ahead and pay OOP for the candlelight Processional since we are doing lunch. Thanks my secret friend for the advice where ever you are. ;)

Boma breakfast is a good bet for an OOP meal. I couldn't believe what a good deal it was! Actually I would pay OOP for most breakfasts. You're just not going to get the value for your dining credit that you do with a dinner.

Either Sci-Fi or Boma, I would say. Sci-Fi depends on how you want to eat, if there is a chance someone will have an appetizer instead of an entree, that may end up being cheaper, but if you're doing a full meal & dessert, then I would definitely say Boma will be your best OOP option.

Just got back and LOVED Sci Fi. 3rd trip on DP but first at Sci Fi. Both boys wanted steak so we used dining plan credits for those but DH and I tried the salad (which was only around $8) and loved it! Highly recommend and great way to save a TS credit! DS did say it was the best steak ever so if you have a steak lover - they may not want to pass up on it.

Here was how we approached our credits this trip. We had 6 nights but reservations requiring 7 TS because of the candlelight processional. Basically I figured if someone order an entree $20 or less and wasn't interested in dessert, that we would pay that OOP until we had made up the 4 extra TS credits (there were 4 of us) or we would pay OOP the last meal which was lunch at San Angel. We did not have any buffets so we didn't have that issue.

We ended up paying OOP for two meals at Sci Fi and then two at San Angel (I knew I was probably going to order the $20 chicken enchiladas and the desserts weren't that appealing to me). Worked out great!

Don't forget at non-buffet and price fixed meals you can also share. There were a couple of meals that my DH and I could have easily shared too to save credits.
