I was wondering if anyone knew if this would be allowed in the parks. My mom has a hard time standing for long periods of time and She would mainly use it for parades and Fireworks. Any info on these would be appreciated. Thank you.image.jpg

I have seen these in the park but I think she would be more comfable in a wheel chair she dose not have to sit in it all the time she can push it some

According in Disney's website , yes they are.. but and there is always a but isnt there. I used one a couple of years ago and at the security bag checks I got nothing but trouble from the CM checking me.. they refused to let me in .sayiing that I would have to get a wheelchair.. etc.. I stood my ground and they let me in with it . saying that I couldnt use it as a chair.. Once inside no CM ever said anything to me one way or the other in regard to the cane. or when I had it open as a chair.. just anther example of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.. I would go to their web site and print the part where it says what kind of mobility aid is allowed and have it in yuor bag in case they give you problems if you go with a cane chair.. have a great trip.

Also email their disability department. They will confirm that it is considered a medical device and is allowed! Print that off and take it with you. I know you don't want it to take time away from your vacation but if a lead CM/manager needs to get involved, they SHOULD know what department to contact and they will be trained and brought up to speed accordingly.
Hope you have a great trip!

The difference in whether a folding chair is allowed or not is whether it is just a chair or can also be used by the person as a cane. This one is not really a folding chair, it is a cane with a seat. This is a link to the Disney website page about 'what not to bring'

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/restricted-personal-items/

Keep in mind that she probably be able to use it while waiting for parades, but may be asked to fold it during the actual parades and fireworks. That would be for safety reasons, in case someone bumps her, it could unbalance and fall. I would suggest keeping members of your group as a buffer around her.
Aldo, be aware of the same in lines.

The problem with bringing paperwork printed off from the internet (even Disney's own website) is that the info there isn't always up to date and correct. The CMs at the park (and management there) have the last word on what is allowed/not allowed. OP, I'd plan/budget for a wheelchair just in case the seat is not allowed.

Frankly, I've seen so many things that are on the "not allowed" list let in to the park that I wouldn't worry too much. And I've been behind people prominently displaying those things lots of times at security, and never seen them turned away. In all my years, I've only seen one thing denied entry-a glass bottle, which interestingly was Perrier water, a sealed, but glass container. And I've been denied carrying alcohol (a plastic glass of wine) OUT of a park.
