The Future of Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom

It's just not that popular in its current form.

I guess the reason that it's so popular for me is that it really just helps bring out the positive outlook on things, and how if you're doing it right, there can always be a great big beautiful tomorrow. A bit cheesy perhaps, but you just can't help but smile while singing that song.

But it won't be anything to do with the major Marvel characters due to contractual restrictions with Universal.
Disney owns Marvel now, so eventually the Universal contract will expire.

Regardless, I never want to see Marvel characters in the MK. I'm not a huge fan of them (probably) ending up at HS, for that matter.

That just makes me sad. I don't normally go during the high seasons, so if I went and it was down, I'd be very bummed. I'd just end up sitting outside singing "Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow" to myself.

I swear, there's just no respect for Walt's vision nowadays.

I think that not updating it is a form of disrespect.

If Walt could see it now he'd have his imagineers, scriptwriters and the Sherman brothers in his office at 9:00 Monday morning and start sprucing it up.

Then Roy would argue about the budget, and Walt would say, I'll go visit Samsung or LG and one of them will pay if we also do it in Shanghai, and we'll use those hotshot writers we have under contract to the Disney channel and it it'll get done.

The current regime is all Roy and no Walt.

That hit it right in the head.

I see two options with tomorrow land:

Further decay or a rip up for character/merchandise tie ins.

I mean...we know where the heads are at with management.

The bell tolled loud and clear when Norway became "expendable"

Agree. He would want his dream to live on more than a ride. His dream was about the future, not a nostalgic vision of the past.

I would sit outside COP singing with you. That is my favorite ride and I sing the song every time I'm on the ride. COP, oddly enough, is one of my most favorite rides in WDW

You would think they would come out for air. They must have one terrific head cold stuffing up their noses.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Especially that last line.

THIS. To me, this is what CoP is all about. This is what I feel Walt wanted. I like to dream sometimes about how different the world would be if we hadn't lost him when we did.

I don't think it's odd at all that CoP is one of your most favorite rides, as it is one of mine too! Hopefully one day we can sing together, not because it's closed, but because it's finally getting the attention it deserves!!!

This doesn't surprise me, we're 5-6 years from the 50th anniversary and disney takes 5-6 years to build anything. I don't think we'll be hearing plans anytime soon but I'm sure they are looking long term for more capacity and making the 50th a lot more special.

40 was pretty quiet. I'm sure 50 won't be, but I wonder if the focus of 50 will be MK or WDW at large.

If that is the case, there would be no specific necessity to enhance MK further as they'll still be riding high on Pandora, Toy Story, and probably just opening Star Wars.

I would expect a new nighttime show or parade tho.
