What is the current allotment of free park passes for friends and family of DCP?

My son is headed down for Spring 2016. He said he recently heard they earn "days" as they go along through the program maxing out at 9 days of park entry (i.e. 3 people x 3 days).

Can anyone confirm this? Or, knows differently?
thanks.

That doesn't sound right at all.

Unless it has changed drastically he will get 6 free days and each free day he can take up to 3 people. It is by days not #of tickets though so yes you technically have 18 tickets but if you bring in 1 person on one day you loose those other 2 tickets from that day.

You also can't double up so you can't use 2 days to get 6 tickets.

That is correct. CP's got a letter stating that they will earn guest passes after working their first 100 hours. This is new. Last semester when my DD was there she got 3 guest passes good for 6 days each. She still has a friend in the program and it is definitely changing.

After 100 hours, do they earn all 9 passes or at what rate do they accrue the passes?

After 150 hours, you earn 3 one day park hopper guest tickets
After 300 hours, you earn another 3 one day park hoppers
After 600 hours, you earn the next 3 one day park hoppers

You receive a maximum total of 9 passes per calendar year

Sounds like they had to do this because so many CPs were coming in and since the old way you got your maingates in 2 weeks and they were active would take 2 weeks off use their 9 days and get a massive discount on rooms etc then just quit the program. So they used all the benefits, got their 20% off (if you were a Fall CP you could easily get 40% most of your program) and a steep room discount then only put in 2 weeks worth of work.

This new rule will also apply to seasonal CMs. I'm guessing too many seasonals were taking advantage of the benefits yet only working the minimum required hours.

Question: So once a pass is used one time the count down begins and any unused days are forfeited?? Can anyone else use the same pass? What about finger scans and/or bracelets?

I'm confused....you earn tickets in batches of 3, but.... Is it 3 six day Hoppers or just 3 one day Hoppers?

I has questions as well, you are still physically given 1 main entrance pass (for your use only), and 3 guest passes to be returned to the CM at the end of the guest's visit, correct? Under the old system, if you used 1 day on a single guest pass, each of the other 2 guest passes activate for 1 day and should be used or else, poof! 2 days gone to waste? Or are the 3 guest passes all independent of each other now?

The way it works now for CPs, after a set amount of hours, they receive 3 1-day passes (each good for one person). Then after another set of hours, they get 3 more.

It's different now. Now CPs get a pass for themselves, and after a set amount of hours they receive 3 1-day passes for guests (each good for 1 person). Then after another set of hours, they get 3 more

Alright, so now rather than being given 4 cards on your first day, you are given 1 card, and then 3 cards at each of the hourly benchmarks. Each of the said cards represent a one-time-use 1-day park hopper. So towards the end, you can have 10 cards including your main entrance pass?

The rules for guest passes have changed as of the new year. It used to be that you received 6 days where you could get up to 3 people into the parks. All of the passes were connected. It didn't matter if you brought 1, 2, or 3 guests into the park. All of you guest passes decreased by one day.

However, you now receive 3 one day park hoppers after 150 hours, another 3 one day park hoppers after 300 hours, and another 3 one day park hoppers after 600 hours for a total of 9 one day park hoppers. The new guest passes have less blockout dates. These tickets work like any other ticket in the sense that you scan the ticket at the touch point and place your finger for the finger scan. However, the cast member needs to enter before the guest does at the touch point.

You can divide your guest passes up however you want to. One person can use all of them or they can be split amongst 3 people.

After traditions, the CP will receive their main gate pass for their own entrance. After 150 hours, the CP will receive 3 one day park hopper guest passes. After 300 hours, they will receive 3 more. After 600 hours, they will receive 3 more. While the passes were connected to eachother under the old system, the passes are not under the new system. If visiting after the CP completed 600 hours, one person could visit the parks for 9 days or 3 people can visit for three etc.

So are they is the requirement the CM must be present still valid for CPs or are they similar to the white pass where CM doesn't have to be with guest. Also are they tied to employment. The white passes are valid for like 2 years and don't become invalid if you leave as long as your print them off the hub before you loose access.

The CP must be present in order to get their guests in when using guest passes. Just like main entrance passes, the guest passes will expire at the end of their program.

No you can take advantage of the resort discounts once you complete traditions and have access to the HUB.

Can someone explain how the resort discount works? I am a parent. I already have a resort reservation at CBR for February 21-25. My son starts on Jan 18th. Will I be able to use a resort discount?

You may or may not be able to. Once he can log onto the hub he can access the cast booking. If you have a magic your way vacation package you may not be able to switch it. That would require a phone call to the number listed on the hub and asking them. If it is room only you can book on the cast discount online and then cancel your reservation. The big issue is going to be actually having your son do it. The biggest complaint I hear about CP discounts is from parents who can't get their kids to do what needs to be done including booking the room or making the phone call. At first you can't do it yourself because he needs to give his Perner number or hub account which he can not give out.

Cast members gain access to the resort discounts once they complete traditions. Your son can check availability through the HUB or the cast member reservation line. Your son can book two types of reservations- friends/family where the he isn't staying in the room with you (less of a discount) or a reservation where he is staying in the room with you (more of a discount). The discount and availability will vary. At checkin or up to one week (I believe) before checkin your son will have to show his cast member ID. Do you have a room only reservation or vacation package? Yes you can take advantage of your son's discount. However, availability with CM discounts can be limited. Have him check availability as soon as he get access to get the most options. Definitely keep your reservation for now.
