Ask Me Anything

Can you please tell me what happens if the alarm goes for a muster? Do we race to get the kid from kids club and then go to our muster point (with his life jacket) or will he be brought to the muster point by the carers, or will you take the kids to their own muster point somewhere?

Sorry, I like to be prepared for everything, thanks for any reply,

I can answer this because I just asked that at the muster drill at our most recent cruise. Our muster drill leader (who also happened to be a youth activities counselor) said in case of emergency, they call all the parents to pick up the kids from the clubs and then we pick them up prior to reporting to our muster stations. If for some reason, parents don't come, they said that they try to get the kids to the correct muster station. And if that's not possible, they take responsibility for the child at the best muster station.

Keep in mind, that if the ship is actually (heaven forbid) sinking, there shouldn't be any racing involved. It's a LONG process for a ship like that to sink. It doesn't just start going under in the course of a minute or two. We're talking hours.

For prebooked nursery hours, is there a cancellation fee? We are hoping to get tickets for Elsa and Anna and no idea what day or time that would be at. Would hate to have to pay the nursery fee if it's during the same time.

Also, what are the hours on the first night of the cruise? We are sailing western Caribbean on the Fantasy and I know it's recommended kids go that first night to help form friendships. We will be doing Disney transfers from AoA so it won't be an early morning start, my 8 yr old should be ok staying up late that night. I hope anyways!

Oh, and are kids in the nursery expected to wear wristbands at all times? Not so sure the 2 yr old will be ok with that.
Hi! I know the other questions have been answered but the Lab usually opens around 5:30 and the club around 7:30 on the first night. Both close at midnight.

We were recently on the Magic and my daughter was playing one of the games on an iPad (I think, some kind of tablet) that was a game where she was creating pirate and dressing it up. Is this a game exclusive to the Oceaneer's Club or is this something available for download. Thanks!
I'm not sure. I will check that out for you :)

Are 3-12 year old separated into smaller age groups within Oceaneer's Club, like on other cruise lines? Asking for siblings that will want to be together.

Oceaneer's Club/Lab are basically in the same space (on the Dream class ships). They are roughly separated into smaller rooms, with the Club "side" having activities that are aimed at the 3-7 age group, while the Lab "side" has activities aimed toward the 8-12 age group. That being said, any child in the Club/Lab can participate in whatever activities appeal to them regardless of age/location.

I am trying to get some food/candy together for the counselors. Only individually wrapped things? I am trying to find unique treats but a lot are not individually wrapped

What are some of the most popular activities in the clubs? My girls are 7. They spend so much time at that light table tracing pictures. Thought I could suggest some other activities for them to try.....

Is there any certain items that I will need to bring for my 18 month old when I take hime to the nursery ?
Sippy Cups?
Snacks?
Diapers & Wipes?

Not really sure how the nursery works, any info would be helpful
Thanks

From the DCL website:
What to Bring
Disney’s trained counselors will be more than happy to feed or change your child. If applicable, parents may bring the following when dropping off their child:

  • Baby food, formula or milk and bottles
  • Diapers or pull-ups and diaper wipes
  • Extra clothing
  • A baby blanket
  • Pacifier
Please note that in-stateroom babysitting services are not available.

I know this has been asked but I have seen different answers. I know that up to 3 can go to the nursery and starting at 3 can go to the club but is there a cut off point? Our child will be pushing 4 and we wanna put her in the nursery for a few hours one day. The rest she will be in the club.

How far away from 4? That's probably pushing it a little. There is a little leeway for a newly turned 3 year old to attend both as some children just 3 are not ready for an Oceaneers type environment. But having an almost 4 in with babies isn't really appropriate either. Which ship are you sailing on? You can try asking them once you're onboard but I'm not 100% sure of the outcome

Hi! Ah yes we'll all types of craft are popular with young girls!! But cooking school, royal ball, friendship rocks and any song and dance programs are usually a big hit :)

We will be on the Wonder and she will be 3 years and 9 months. You're right we will just skip the nursery. Thanks!!

My 9 yo DD is in Girls on the Run program & is training to run a 5K. Do kids really have to be 10 to register for CC 5K?
Thanks!

The CC 5K is not part of the kids' programming per-se. You sign-up onboard at the Port Adventures desk. I have seen both 10 or 12 as minimum ages, though it does seem most reports are saying 10 yrs old. That is the minimum age to register, receive a bib and medal. It is most likely a liability issue as most guests are not used to the exertion in the heat/humidity found on CC. However, the course is open so there really is no restriction on who can actually run/walk part or all of it.

Enjoy your cruise!

I did not see friendship rocks listed on recent navigators. Is it still being done on the Fantasy? If so, how will I know when it is? My DD is 8 and I know she would love it.
