IV Antibiotics at Disney

I'm in a weird position, I have a trip scheduled to Disneyland on the 8th of December, but it looks like I will still be doing IV antibiotics at that time.

I am curious if anyone has ever done them while on a trip to Disney (either coast).

I feel like it would ruin other peoples vacation if I whipped my fold-able IV pole out and did them in a back corner, and I'm not staying on property so i worry the shuttle time back in forth will make the trip not worth going :P

Canceling my trip is going to cost me $200 but i'm feeling like it's the only option at this point.

What is your experience with this?

Go to first aid to do it. Then you aren't messing with anyone else's vacation by causing alarm and I believe you can also store your suplies there so you don't have to pack them around.

Really? I didn't realize the first aid at Disney would have a place for something like that, but that's brilliant! thank you

Maybe even the child care centers too. Maybe you can get into the nursing room if not occupied by nursing mothers.

I know they have let people store diabities meds there so I imagine your stuff should be okay.

First aid has rooms with beds so you could request to use one so you can lay there and administer the meds. It is also airconditioned and heated so you aren't sitting out in the potential heat or cold depending on the weather. They are staffed by RNs so they should understand and not be caught off guard.

I can't imagine them not letting you sit there to administer your medicine since that is once reason they are there.

Just checked and the section of the WDW website that is for guests with disabilities says first aid is a place to store medicine and receive assistance so it sounds like the perfect place for you so you don't have to cancel.

yes first aid will be fine I use it all the time for medical things and for keeping my things there I even think they have an IV pole ( but I would call and rubble check first )

Absolutely.

DS once ended up with what looked like heat exhaustion and they brought us back to the hospital-like area in First Aid in Disneyland. Very nice beds with curtains to separate you from anyone else who might be back there, and it's nice and quiet. As WL said, they are actual Registered Nurses there, who have likely seen everything already. :)

First Aid at WDW has rooms with IV poles; not sure about Disneyland, but they should also.
