Hi there! I know this might be kind of a rookie question, but I'm blanking on some answers and thought it would be good to get some outside opinions. What are some of your favorite places to photograph?
My upcoming Spring trip to WDW will be my first trip as a photographer - I have experience, I know what to capture and how to capture, and I finally have a good camera bag to carry my lenses and tripod! It's all part of why I'm so excited for this trip, too (Animal Kingdom Lodge and Flower and Garden Festival??? Yes please!)

But I just wanted to see what other photographers FAVORITE places are to photograph, in and around the parks.

Thanks so much for reading!!

WDW is where I started my photography hobby - so many spots for that perfect shot. I really like my animal photos from Animal Kingdom, and I like trying different settings for the fountains and waterfalls. Some of my best photos are from Epcot World Showcase. I have some great shots from the Indy Jones and Lights, Motor, Action shows at DHS. I don't do fireworks or tripod shots, but I do enjoy looking at everyone else's shots. Have fun.

Follow Tom Bricker and Mark Willard. They both shoot wonderful images of wdw that will totally inspire you.

I love MK for photos! Castle, fireworks, I fell in love with night photography there. Also fisheye and wide angles became some of my fav lenses there. Parade shooting is something I love too.

Otherwise I just carry my camera with a normal lens around during the day. 50 or 85 or 24-70 and shoot my kids.

I love on ride photos too. I'm too adhd to sit and not shoot during slow rides.

Tom Bricker has a blog "Disney tourist blog. He posts a ton of his stuff there. They both have instagrams that I follow. And Twitter. Mark is most actually on those.

ETA: Mark is most ACTIVE on those. Lol

LOL, I'm the same way. That's the only way I found out I could shoot dark rides with my f/4 lens (with 25,600 ISO). I didn't have my fast lens that day and didn't want to just sit and watch. ;)

It's really my downfall because I'm also too adhd to sit and do much post processing. Lol

I like to find unique points of view, little details, and I take advantage of the weather. If it is raining, wait for it to stop and take pictures with the reflections. Using the "Magic Hour" for great pictures. Learn to use your flash as a fill light for family photos so that faces are not is the shadows.

Look for unique perspectives and good use of Depth of Field

Mike, is that Dick Van Dyke in one of your pictures? If so, that is one awesome shot to take! A Disney classic at DL!

The one and only. That was a crazy event. Tons of Disney Legends in the park that day.

My favorite THINGS to photograph are the shows/parades, the colours are super bright, things are awesome, characters, etc.

My favorite spots in Dak:
-On the bridge leading into Africa, looking towards all the new Harambe/Folk theater.

-On the other bridge over near Asia, looking either direction, towards EE, or back towards Africa

-The whole new Harambe Marketplace area.

DHS:
-Nighttime looking down towards ToT
-Towards the Chinese Theater
...i don't spend a lot of time at Dhs..

Epcot:
-Any and every of the pavilions, play with angles, different views, go to the back of the pavilion and take some looking out into the lagoon

MK:
-Has without doubt the most spots around, I love playing around with shots all over the parks, daytime & nighttime can make a drastic difference in what you catch too!
-All the statues/fountains in the hub grass area, looking towards the castle or not, play around with which one you're focusing on, it can be awesome.
-Castle, duh, from all angles, front, side, back, super down low (ie, I play around with getting super low while walking up the ramp). Day time, nighttime, dusk/sunsets also make a world of difference.

-Cinderella fountain behind the castle
-Looking through the castle walkway back towards Main St
-Tangled bathrooms, again, day & night makes a world of difference, and you can play around a lot with the angles.
