Remember when at Universal...

- ...you could get 7 days for $99?
-...annual pass renewals were $99?
-...you could volunteer to be part of the show in Earthquake, Alfred Hitchcock, Murder She Wrote, and Hercules and Xena?
-...there was a parking lot and trams?

Who has something else to add?

King Kong! The very first time I went on that ride, they had posters for the movie Far and Away throughout the queue! Long time ago! I did love that ride though.

There was only one park.

We first visited together 97 and there was one park, think by second visit in 99 Islands of Adventure was open.

Remember the ghostbusters show on the steps in new york area too.

When the Hard Rock was the only thing outside of the park and you exited through a back gate to eat there

And it was shaped like a guitar. You can see Bate's motel house in picture, too.

..When Universal offered a sort of fastpass for free?
..When they had Nickelodeon Studios and a Nicktoons ride? (Used to be my favourite ride as a kid!)
..When Shrek 4-D was actually cool?

I remember Back To The Future most for making all 3 of us feel really, really sick. Didn't help we rode it straight after lunch though!!

Love those old pics!!!

A friend of ours who works at Universal sent me some links few years ago to a whole bunch of original and old park pics and from before and when it was first getting built........they are fascinating to see........

I need to look them out again........

The old HRC was an amazing building.......Metro West always thought it would have made a great HHN house instead of just laying derelict......it would have been actually......shame they never did that.

I didn't go to Universal in the real early year. I ended up going during the "dark times" when attendance was a fraction of what it is now. I remember many of the things on the list.

Here's one to add, remember when Dudley Do Right didn't have lap bars and before the reprofiled the final drop.

The yellow is the original drop. The original drop was more curved and scarier because you continually tipping further forwards.
