Nobody to blame but ourselves. Until we stop going and Disney sees their attendance and profits drop, then they'll consider lowering prices. But why lower prices now when parks and resorts are packed?
labor costs going up 50 cents an hour beginning in may and disney trying to control crowds is what is leading to creative pricing. will this affect things? what really moves disney these days are dvc members and if they can change their travel dates or internationals who have some leeway on travel because they bet so much vacation time, then maybe tiered prices are affective. however they wont really effect families because they tend to travel when family is out of school, unless the kids are homeschooled or they attend a school that is willing to work with parents who want to take the kids out of school. ( I don't know many schools that allow that.)

They've finally done something to address the solo repeat traveler Disney photo addict market.
Maybe, they'll sell tickets with points at last for 14 days. MK will take 25pts on Tuesday, and 32pts on Saturday. You could then spend the odd leftovers as snack credits before they expire.
I can see them raising ticket prices EVERY year until crowds start leveling off (or people start taking shorter vactions to WDW, etc.).
The more they raise ticket prices, the more value that non-expiration ticket purchase is for me. (Not that I WANT them to raise prices, the tickets were already a good value for the two SHORT trips I have made thus far). 6 days left on my wife and I tickets .. and 10 days left on my son's (just turned 3).
I honestly think they could raise tickets by 50% and it would have no effect on crowds currently.
We have plans to visit again at some point - thinking summer 2018. Does it make any sense to buy our multi day tickets now since they currently don't expire until activated? Could we still use discount vendors like Underconver Tourist?
That's a great question and is a little complicated.
Correct me if I'm wrong...but I don't believe there is a deadline to activate tickets still (they expire after 14 days of activation)...so if that is the case you would pay substantially more in 3 years than now...there is 100% no doubt.
Now...in the future they may attach further usage limits...maybe even as far as preselecting parks and days...but not yet.
Tickets have become more restrictive and could continue. The no expiration tickets were a fantastic way to both prepay Disney for future travel and allow you to budget more effectively. Both gained...
But they S-canned that in 2013 forever.
Most likely they wouldn't do it do already purchased tickets.Thank you. If they place new restrictions on the newly priced tickets, is there any chance they could retroactively place them upon previously sold tickets? Im thinking not, but I am not much of a risk taker!
And based on past price raises, anyone care to venture a guess as to what ticket prices could rise to?
I don't think they'll ride in the next two weeks but probably in January or February like always.Any further news as to when price increases will happen? I'm planning on purchasing our park passes through my local AAA soon (next two weeks). Is this something I should bump up a bit?
