Feeling like a newbie again

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would say hello, introduce ourselves and ask some newbie questions. I’m Pam, DH is Chris, and we have been to Disney a few times but the last time we were there was way back in 2005! We have decided that to celebrate DH 60th Birthday we have to go back to the magic. Unfortunately DH isnt 60 until 2018 so this is going to be my longest and probably biggest ever trip planning adventure. Of course the first place I came to for information was the DISBoards, and what a shock I got, apart from the fact I couldn’t remember my old login and had to create a new account! There is so much new information, new theme parks, DDP, Magic Bands, Fastpass Plus etc etc I actually feel as if I am a complete newbie again. Please bear with me if I am asking basic questions, here goes the first few J

1. When do bookings normally open for the following year (especially if we could get free DDP)?

2. Do you have to have a current booking to use My Disney Experience?

3. I am having problems getting into MDE, if I try to create an account it says I already have one, if I try to reset the password it says I don’t have an account! Is there a UK number to call or an email address to get help, or is the only option to ring the US number?

4. If I booked a package holiday can I still book all the Fastpasses and dining reservations as if I was a direct guest?

5. We will probably get a 21 day ticket, we like to visit a theme park on the day we arrive and on the last day after we check out. This would potentially be 22 days in a park but we will have a few non-Disney days which would take our total days below 21. My question is - Are the tickets valid for 21 consecutive days from first use or 21 individual days?

I think that’s all the questions I have for now but no doubt there will be plenty more in the future.

Thanks for your help

Pam

First of all - welcome back!

Answers below in red

1. When do bookings normally open for the following year (especially if we could get free DDP)? The last few years is been April for free dining for the following year but this can change!

2. Do you have to have a current booking to use My Disney Experience? No but it's not much use without one.

3. I am having problems getting into MDE, if I try to create an account it says I already have one, if I try to reset the password it says I don’t have an account! Is there a UK number to call or an email address to get help, or is the only option to ring the US number? There should be a UK number on the website.

4. If I booked a package holiday can I still book all the Fastpasses and dining reservations as if I was a direct guest? Yes as long as you get your Disney reference to link your booking. Most TAs do now provide this when asked although some don't until nearer the 60 day mark.

At the moment you can use 21 days over a 22 day period.

I think that’s all the questions I have for now but no doubt there will be plenty more in the future.

Thanks for your help
