Official 2016 Princess Half Marathon Thread

FYI: RawThreads is having a pre-Black Friday sale. Use code ELF for 35% off. :)

You're so good to let people know, I was just going to post the same thing! And I happily used the coupon for a shirt & hoodie I have been eyeing!

A couple of steps closer to completing my PHM outfits for the weekend for each of the races!

Been a while since I've posted, but I keep up with all of your posts to stay up to date on info. I completed my first half marathon this weekend with a buddy from my running group. Our potty/stretch stops weren't in sync, but we still finished in 2:26:59. Our goal was to take it easy and finish in under 2:30, so I'll take it! I'm excited to run another solo next month and see if I can improve my time.

After this weekend I'm beginning to think ahead to GSC and my costumes. I know the weather can be so different one year to another, so what is everyone's game plan as you start to buy items for costumes? I am pretty committed to certain gear, so I'm thinking I will do character inspired gear rather than trying to recreate a look.

Congrats on completing your first half!! And under your goal time too...awesome!

I'm trying hard not to buy anything else for mine - it can add up! I'm planning on bringing throwaway clothes and other clothes that I can layer under my main outfits, if I need to (hopefully not). But I'm like you...I stick to running gear that I know works for me and go from there. :confused3

That's sort of where I am right now. I get so hot once I get going, so I don't want to buy too much for cold weather. We don't get much of it here in South Louisiana! I guess I need to begin looking for things I'd be okay tossing to the side.

And now I can add a broken (or at least horribly bruised) toe to my list of ailments. Managed to stub it on the ottoman that has been in the same spot for five years. It is bruised, swollen and sore so I'm delaying today's run until Friday. And Monday I managed to have my best training run yet.

Ugghhhhh

We still have plenty of time until Princess weekend...take all the time you need to heal. Hope you feel better soon!!

Oh no! Best to let it rest that aggravate it! Hope it heals up quickly.

So, I ran my second 10k today.

I didn't think it was a good run. I couldn't get in a decent rhythm. I just felt off.

But I improved 6 minutes from the last one from 1:27 to 1:21!

I just felt I could have done better.

I know the feeling (I had a similar race today - good time, but it just didn't feel right). But any time improvement is a good thing, and you should be really proud of yourself!

Congrats on the improvement.

How is training going for everyone? Did a killer 6.5 mile run last weekend, 11:12 pace. I had to walk a little at the end which stinks. I haven't been doing the best at short runs during the week which isn't helping. I ran 3 miles x3 this past week so I hope that helps for the next long run coming up!

I considered running today but my toe is still bruised and sore. I walked the dog and he put all one hundred pounds on it. *sigh*

I am behind on my training for the January full. However I should be good to go for this one.

And ouch on the 100 pounds. That's a big dog
