Magical Express Newbie

Even being from Wisconsin, my trips to Disney have always been by vehicle. This will be our first trip by flight. We are staying with a dear friend for a few days first and then will be delivered to Disney for the remainder of our vacation. We plan to use the Magical Express from WDW to MCO. My question is... Our flight isn't until evening. What do we do with our carry on luggage while we are in the parks enjoying our last day? I would assume we could leave them at the resort, but our last trip we saw people pulling luggage through the Magic Kingdom.

Please tell me this won't be me come January.

You can just leave your carry on luggage with Bell Services at your resort. The day prior to checkout you will get an envelope delivered to your room with your Magical Express pick up time. Make sure you arrive back at your resort a little early to retrieve your items.

If you have any bags that you would like to check you can do this at the RAC counter prior to 1pm on the day of departure. Any bags that you would like to carry on can be stored at bell services.

The DME package that you will receive will give you a pick up time. That pick up time will be approx 3 hours before your flight time. You must be at the DME stop completely ready to go no less than 15 minute prior to that pick up time. The buses can come early. With that in mind I would plan to leave the park approx 2 hours before pick up time.

Technically, pulling anything through the Magic Kingdom (or Epcot or Hollywood Studios or Animal Kingdom or Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon) is not allowed. You may even be denied bringing baggage aboard the park bus.

Be sure you're all registered with DME for that return to the airport...it isn't automatic. You can actually wait until you check in at your resort, but it must be done 36 hrs prior to departure. Then, on your last night, you will get a notification, in your room/under your door, giving you your pick up time. You can check your bags with RAC, starting at 5am...so no need to lug anything big back to the airport. Then, any carry on bags you may have can be left with Bell Services/Luggage Assistance on that last day. Just leave plenty of time to get back to the resort, use the bathroom, and get any carry on bags out of storage....this usually means arriving back at your resort about 45 mins prior to departure time...an hour is even better. The time on your notification is the time the bus should be leaving the resort, NOT the time you should head to the bus stop. You should head to the stop about 15 mins prior to departure time.
