Part 9: 09/26/15 (no pictures for this post.... because I was sad to be leaving so I didn't take any)
Today is the saddest day ever.
We have to leave the most magical place on earth, and go home.
While I missed my husband and son at home, I wasn't ready to leave. I love Disney so much!
We were wanting to get on the road by 8:00am at the absolute latest, and I'm so proud of us!
We had the car totally packed and we were ready to go at 7:00am!
Not wanting to slow down we didn't stop for breakfast, we figured we'd get something further down the road and eat in the car.
Drove about 20 minutes out of the resort, and realized no one has any cash left to pay for the tolls. There is literally nothing anywhere around us, so we actually drove back to Coronado Springs. Since we were there already anyway, went ahead and got some Mickey waffles for the road!
Cash and Mickey waffles in hand we headed back out to try and drive home again.
Mom has an obsession with Mr. Pibb because they don't sell it here so we stopped at a Walmart and I made the comment that my sinuses were really bothering me and my wonderful mother says "I have some sinus medicine!"
Me: "It won't make me sleepy will it?"
Mom: "No!"
20 minutes later I felt like I had been awake for 38 hours. I pulled off the road and mom and I switched places, then I passed out in the back seat from the medicine my mom had drugged me with. To this day I still think she drugged me on purpose....
Sleeping on road trips is kind of like time travelling. You fall asleep, and when you wake up BAM it's hours later and you've traveled so far!
We were in Pensacola around lunch time when I woke up so we stopped at a Dairy Queen with a view of the ocean.
It was so awful. Literally the only good thing was that you could see the ocean. The service was horrible and our food was gross. We definitely weren't at Disney World anymore. I have never, ever encountered a rude cast member at Disney so I hated knowing we were back in the "real world" where people aren't the same.
We made limited stops for gas and food, made it home around 10:30pm.
It was good to be home. My youngest was asking all kinds of questions and saying he wants to go next time. When planning this trip he wanted nothing to do with it and even said he didn't want to go, so it was a total turn around.
Now, big news!
My mom and I were talking about how badly we wanted to go back, but I honestly can't afford it right now.
When my grandpa passed away he left my mom with some money, and she decided that instead of giving out sums of cash to the grand kids, she wants to take us on family trips! Which I would prefer anyway, I would much rather spend time together than receive money. So while I thought this trip would be my last trip to Disney for a while, we're actually going back in May!
It's a total surprise for my youngest and nephew, they're both 10 years old. It'll be me, mom, my brother, my son, and my nephew! We're also flying this time, out of Dallas. We found extremely cheap tickets so we couldn't pass it up.
Then in November 2016 the entire family is going on a Disney cruise out of Galveston! The kids do know about the cruise, so every time we slip up and say something about our Disney trip we pass it off by saying we were talking about the cruise. Jacob is my son, and if you ask him what his dream vacation is he always says "Disney cruise."
I'm so thankful for my mom, she's an amazing person and I love that she's doing this for us. I can't thank her and my grandpa enough because they're giving our kids something that I didn't think would ever be possible.
Thank you for reading about my trip! I can't wait to post another review when we get back in May!!
