Hi
For recents cruisers when you attended the dvc meeting embarquation day what was your free goodies
of course I like to attend and hear what is the next projects don't always have plans to add on
The cash drawing is always fun ( won a few years back :-)
But I know they usually give either hats ..cups ..or pins ?
Cannot wait for my cruise to be here ( winter will be here soon ( canada )
Thanks

A month ago on the Magic's DVC presentation they gave away two umbrellas. I went twice just to try to win the OBC, but no luck. I did however win an umbrella by answering a question.

They also served the drink of the day.

The made in china tervis style tumblers were still being issued on the Wonder last month.

Out of curiosity, how long does the meeting last for? I'm considering going but don't want to spend a lot of time there.. Tia!!

We were just on the Magic B2B out of Miami and they gave the tervis style tumblers out at the meeting. There was a card that was delivered the first day or two to the room that invited you to bring it to the desk for a special gift. That ended up being a DVC hat. Over the two cruises we collected 5 of the cups and 5 of the hats

I attended the meeting on the Fantasy last week. It was about 45 minutes. They gave out DVC bags, sort of a drawstring neoprene thing for the beach, and a DVC pin to everyone. There was a drawing for $200 obc and they also gave out a thumb drive and some beach items.

I won't even take those. What's the point?

Free watered down drink (or two, if you can convince them to give you another), maybe (yet another) hat.

Oh I think I have three different colours of DVC caps in my closet somewhere. I have the red one the white one and the blue one. What other colours of caps have they given out though the years?

Forgot to mention that on Wonder last month...in addition to the Tervis style mugs we also got the teal blue DVC caps. Don't forget that everyday that the ship is in port, check in to the DVC desk to get the gift of the day for every passenger in your cabin.

To me, the meetings are a painful waste of my fun time. Ugh. Went once, never again!

to each their own...I don't mind wasting 45 mins if it gives me an opportunity to win $200. Odds are pretty good. Most i've had were 8 people at a presentation out of the 4 cruises

I agree and on my last cruise it was me that won pixiedust: Was so surprised as we are not normally a lucky family

Are these "high pressure" type meetings? Or just go listen, get some info, and do what you wish with it? Trying to convince my husband we should go to one while the kids are in the kids club. Oh, or can kids come? Would be the 2 yr old, save our paid nursery time for fun instead :).

We did the DVC meet up for the first time three years ago and had a blast. It was not held on the first day of our cruise. I think it was the second or the third. It was early in the day in the Tube on the
Fantasy with free mimosas. It was a lot of fun and the gifts were really nice. Leather or pleather portfolios that we still use for our travel documents and larg pleather business tablet type folders.

Yes, you have to sit through the sales pitch, but we had fun playing the trivia games. We did it again last January and even though we felt rushed because it was on the first day, we still had fun. The quality and quantity of the giveaways diminished since our first time. We were told to stop by the DVC kiosk daily for a special gift. Most of the items were low budget. One of the items was a really nice DVC cruise themed pin.

We enjoy the meetings and will be doing it again this January. The nice part about Disney is that even though not everything is for everyone, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

You can bring kids - there were mostly singles and couples there, but a few families. They had coloring books and kiddie drinks to keep them occupied.

I have attended many timeshare presentations before (and purchased) and would say this was fairly low pressure. They used all the usual tactics and interspersed with videos highlighting the properties. They talked about things like break even, locked in rates, how you can use your pts towards cruises, etc. But there's a lot they don't talk about and you would only know that if you were knowledgeable about how timeshares work. For example, they didn't say anything about only having access for X number of years, reservation timing for your home resort vs other resorts, how MFs can drastically go up, how financing works (usually at high rates), exchange process and fees on RCI, etc. You weren't allowed to ask questions in the presentation either - you had to sign up for a personal session at a later time, at which point you could ask whatever you wanted and get an actual purchase breakdown, financing offer, etc. They were offering incentives with discounts on purchase as well as OBC ($4k for 500 pts).

I came mainly to see if there was anything new since the last time I attended a DVC presentation and hoped to win the $200 obc, of course. I was hoping my odds would be good because it was the last night onboard! And I have to admit, I love the spiel - I've fallen for it too many times and it's gotten me into big trouble, so I'm glad I'm a little wiser now.

This is really low or no pressure. We go just for the handouts and free adult beverage. Only free adult beverage you'll get on the whole cruise.

They are not all the same, and we enjoy going. Sometimes there has been music entertainment. They've had a regular game host cast member moderate the games and that has made them more entertaining, I think. I've gotten some small gifts for participating, never the OBC, but there is still hope!
