The November 2015 Open Pre and Live Trip Reports

Oh boy DH just threw me for a loop. He just said "you know you aren't going to sleep tonight anyway, if you want to leave now I'm fine with that." I knew there was a reason I loved that man!

Now I'm trying to decide what to do. I'm supposed to work until 4, but I could leave as early as 3 this afternoon. I initially planned our drive for Thanksgiving day thinking that traffic would be a lot less on the actual holiday than on the day before, i.e. today. What do you all think? We are coming from Cincinnati straight down I-75.

I would think traffic would be lighter tomorrow as I think more would travel today to get where they are going if covering a distance. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah I really think you are right. It think if we try to leave today we'll end up spending twice as long getting there. I think I'm going to stick with the plan and wait. But if I can't sleep tonight we may pull out early. DH and the kids will go back to sleep in their seats and I'm planning on starting the drive anyway and switching off with DH later.

Alright I have to ask, what is IOA on Weds ??

Islands of Adventure. This will be our first time going to the dark side. Since we are doing Universal on the first Saturday which will probably be the busiest day crowd wise of our trip, I planned our second Universal day for Wed which should be the least crowded of the week. I figure we will start at universal side on sat and then start at the islands of adventure side on wed, though we have park to park tickets and will likely hop to each both days.

It is our last day. As expected drama with work but we managed to get out to Publix so we had some food to cook tonight. Managed to put the ground mat away just before the rain and it showered briefly while at Publix. Just been packing up. Got my leg in the hot tub again. Everything is starting to feel better. Will try and do something on Friday. Glad everyone is enjoying the pics of the dogs. At the hot tub some guy brought up our dogs he thought we were the owners. She is a rock star. Poor Yeti will need to go to the vet when we get back. His hips are really bothering him. I was surprised the pool was not too crowded at 3 but it was a bit cool. Walked the dogs and now cooking and sitting out. Still have some inside work on the rig to do to get ready but we are pretty close.

A few parting pics. It is crowded and mostly parked up but surprisingly quiet.

Ruthies you are in the barn. Safe travels.

Go @ruthies12 go!

I'm a mess the day before we leave. Always running around like a chicken with its head cut off and then that night wide awake unable to sleep. I say load up and head out! Drive a few hours and then take a rest up. The more you do tonight the less you have tomorrow.

Safe travels for all on the road!

I started looking at the 2016 calendar and next November election day and Veteran's day are in the same week. That means we could get a week at Disney for only 3 days off from school.

We ended up getting on the road just after 2 am. We are making good time so far, just one fuel stop and we are almost to the georgia border. There are A LOT of deer in the roads in Tennessee. Almost hit twice.

If all goes well we should be pulling into the fort around 4 pm.

We got through Atlanta with no problems and that was the spot I was most worried about for traffic so woohoo!

Why does georgia have to be such a stupid long state though?

mmmmm, venison.

Update on us- I think our windshield has taken out every single insect in existence. You're welcome georgia.

You won't hear much more from me for a bit, too hard to hit these little letters on the phone while bouncing in my seat from excitement

Ruthies it is 1:36 pm I think we passed you a few minutes back. You were just south of lake city and we had some rain. Looked like you were towing a dark blue SUV. Was it you? I have been looking for you. It was keeping me entertained.

Am glad you got through Atlanta, I was worrying for you about that.

Hahaha yes that was probably us! We are towing our dark blue jeep cherokee. That was our first spot of rain and one of our new windshield wipers came off. Had to pull over to fix it. Got started up again and then the other one came off! We are finally back on the road. Gps says we'll be there at 417.

We are here in site 406 and not having a very magical start. Our slideout won't go out all the way again.
