Hi all.. opinions and questions PLEASE!
Thinking about going to HH just DH and I for long weekend 1st weekend in Feb. I understand that there are no sit down restaurants onsite. Can we walk to local bars and restaurants? We would rent a car from airport, but clearly I'm concerned about having a few drinks and driving.
Will 2 42 year Olds enjoy the cooler weather ? Can we still go out on the water on tours ? Thanks so much for your imput. If this doesn't work , we may do VB. Wanted to try something new.:smooth:

You can walk across the short bridge to the restaurants/bars across the marina. We do that quite a bit when we go down. In February the weather can be really nice-- highs in the 50's-- or cold with ice storms. As long as it's not raining or very cold they will still be doing the water tours.

You can take a short stroll to shelter cove or if you go left out of the resort you can walk over to the new krogers shopping area and there are some new restaurants there as well. I think one is a roof top restaurant, but not sure since they were all under construction last time I was there.

As far as going out on the water on tours, we went in February once, and I went out on a dolphin tour. Yes, we saw dolphins, and also some neat birds. The only bad thing I remember is that although going out the weather was beautiful and sunny, coming back in got cloudy and freezing cold. I remember one man on our boat wasn't going to bring a jacket because it was so nice, but when we got back he said he was so glad he'd run back at the last minute to get one. You might want to double-check that they're still doing tours since this was about 7 years ago. Also, you might want to double-check the first weekend in February. A few restaurants close in January, and don't reopen until just before Valentine's Day.
