November 2015 car rental thread

Does anyone have a ressie with the AA Discount code for November/December? I have a minivan reserved from Orlando to Tampa 12/18- 12/23 with this code and the Visa $30 off code, and the price is $238.89. I know that prices supposedly go down as it gets closer, but for some reason mine have doubled, so I am wondering if the code is not good now and that is why the new quotes are so much? The current rate for my exact same reservation is $518.14!!! More than double! I wonder what I am doing wrong? I don't have an AP or warehouse membership so any other codes out there you would suggest?

I know my Suv res I booked way back when using Costco has quadrupled since I booked it.
 
I know it's "controversial" but I have a great rate with Alamo using the Vegas Brazil code and Visa $30 off code. I have a standard for 1 week for $110. I'm booked through the Car Care Center and have already done online check in with no issues. No CDW has been added and the ticket I printed has nothing on it about it being the Vegas Brazil code. I plan on using the kiosk and being on my merry way. I've seen multiple posts on DIS of people using the code with no issues at all. We're taking MDE from the airport but do have a beach day in the middle of the trip, and at this price it made sense to book a car for the whole week. Our travel dates are 11/12-11/19
 
Thanks! I just tried that code and it didn't work from MCO either, or at least the price was still $707!!! I looked through here and saw the Vroom Vroom code and tried it and it still works. It is a whole dollar cheaper than my current reservation. That is better than double! Now I have a backup. I booked a 7 passenger minivan and we may now need the 8 passenger, but it is a LOT more. What is the deal with the VROOM code?

The VROOM code is designed for overseas guests that need US insurance. It's a riskier bet, from what I've read. Did you try these?

FWIW
I used the chat feature on Vegas Brazil's website to talked to an agent. I figured I could just book through them. She said if it worked to use it. She was happy that a got such a good rate. :) I even received an email of our chat conversation.Extremely nice agent. If I ever travel to Vegas I will be using some of theirservices because she was extremely friendly. :)

I just recommend the same thing. If you travel to Vegas- check out their services. :)
 
Thanks I will stick with my AA code for now for $238, which is pretty good. The 7016427 code is the one that is giving me the $707 price so it is not working anymore I guess!

Still works- just tested it. Maybe the rates just changed based on supply and demand for your times and places. Maybe when you made your original reservation- Tampa had a need for minivans.
 
I ended up reserving a car with the Vegas code. We're cruising before WDW stay so I need a car to get out to Port Canaveral and back. I can get an economy car with that code for 9 days, for $142. I currently have two, one day rentals for $120. Hopefully the code works because I'd rather have a car the whole time.
 
How's everyone checking their rates on the alamo sight? I haven't been able to use it in days no matter what browser I use.

I've been having a heck of a time with their website lately as well. A definite no go for me in firefox, chrome works sometimes
 
So I was searching the internet and came across an entertainment book 2015 % off contract code and AD9Z69AAA for a coupon code $15 off your rental. Has anyone heard of the entertainment book code and is it something where I have to give them an actual coupon? Thanks for any help!
 
Ok we just joined costco...I don't see how I can I put my alamo insider, or visa codes. Am I wrong to be doing it through costco site?

I usually just take Costco id code and book thru alamo site

Basically you can use a Contract ID and a coupon code. Usually the insider discount is not as good as other discounts (with the exception of some of their last minute specials). If you want to try entering the Costco coupon codes on the Alamo site you can view the coupon by clicking rental cars in the tool bar at the top. But for some reason the price goes up when you use the Contract ID and coupon code on Alamo's site versus enter info on costco's site. Good luck:)

We had a minivan reserved at Alamo, but with the extra driver cost, it was going to be about $500/wk. We decided to do 2 cars and the full size is $130/wk and won't have to worry about stuffing the luggage in - as well as the flexibility of 2 cars (4 adults, 2 kids). This is just using the Alamo Insider discount.
 
Costco has some really good deals on car rentals for November again! Recheck your numbers you may get lucky!
