How waitlists get filled.....

I've tried two different browsers, but there is a little delay -- you can't grab the room with the second browser and use points not yet freed up by the first browser. In my experience (which was a while back, maybe it's changed) there is at least a very short time when you are forced to be without any reservation.

Edited to add: There's a way around this, see next post.

You have to start booking the one room, and then cancel your existing reservation in the other browser. The trick is to select the "borrow" option and then cancel it. That action will refresh your available points.

Right- while you're in the process of booking the new room, it holds it for up to 20 minutes I think, so you're safe.

Oooo, I've learned something new!! Never having borrowed points online, I've never tried that. Thanks!!

Genius!! I just happened to need to cancel and book a new reservation today, and though I wasn't concerned about availability, I tried this, and it worked!! So cool! So when I first clicked to accept the reservation, it showed I only had 75 points. Then I cancelled my 111 point reservation in my other browser, clicked on the "borrow" button in the reservation I was booking, and then "cancel", and it then showed 186 points available! Thanks so much for sharing that.

That's right - separate browser software; for example, chrome versus safari, etc.

You can do it in the same browser if you open up a second window in 'Private browsing" or "incognito window" (chrome).

The only thing to keep in mind is that the WL only fills with an exact match. So if you are waiting for 4 nights and 3 become available, for example, there is no exact match and nothing gets filled automatically from the WL even in the new real time scenario. Stalking is still important because you could snag those 3 nights yourself, book them, then modify your wait list so it's just for the 4th, thereby increasing your odds of getting what you want.

"Stalking" the website is no longer necessary if a waitlist request is active.
As long as it's an exact match. If you have a 5 day wait list and 4 days pop up, or at blt you have different view wait listed. There is less chance of finding due to it checking all wait lists, but I was able to get BWV for 5 nights boardwalk view, by stalking. I had a 6 day wait list for pool view, and also poly when I saw the boadwalk view open up.

Our waitlist was confirmed in record time. Just made the reservation for May6-11 on Tuesday for a pool view at BWV and waitlisted for standard view. It came through yesterday. I haven't had much success with the process previously but it works much better now.

That's great news. To your advantage was that it is exactly the 7 month window so lots of movement this week. I'm waitlisted for a standard studio for May 13th. Just one night. Yesterday my waitlist request disappeared from my dashboard, so anxiously waiting to see if they are working on it right now. I was shocked that I managed to even book a week at the 7 month window in a standard studio. I just need the last night to come through.

Wishing you pixie dust!! I think you will hear soon.

So I'm confused. Over the weekend my waitlist disappeared from my dashboard. I thought maybe it was coming through, but it didn't. While it is no longer listed on my dashboard it is still showing on the old waitlist page. Has this happened to anyone recently, or should I just call.

Sorry about the wrong info about the site. This is suppose to happen tomorrow.

Yep this method works wonderfully no need for 2 browsers just two pages. I always swap this way

I was told the same as TJ and it was part of the symptom upgrade at that time.
