The October 2015 Live Trip Reports!

Glad you are there safe and sound. Good looking camp setup. The refurbished pumpkin decoration looks top notch next to the Mickey lamp. We stayed in 903 in August. It looks like you put up a good fight for 3 rounds.

Oh man! I can barely sit up after all that. I forgot the pics of the Cornbread...good grief.

Oh yeah, do any of you guys remember last November and I rented a golfcart that was a 2 cycle gas engine that sounded like a mower and embarrassed my wife and kids? Do you also remember the speed limit sign that also shows how fast you are going?

This was last November's golfcart:

and this is my current cart:

Hhhmmm...just a little bit tweaked out.

Across the road from my site is the pet walking trail along the canal behind 900. The path leads to the bridge over the canal that leads over to the primitive campsites next to the 2000 loop.

Okay, I'm beat...and full. I gotta shower and hit the hay. We are going to Animal Kingdom tomorrow. If the ladies sleep in I'll get out in the morning and get me some more pics from around the Fort. You know I usually don't post many park pics as you can google a bunch of them. I usually just stick to the Fort pics unless you guys have any special requests then I'll be happy to give it a shot.

Nice lookin' site Tiggerdad, found the plug alright, and the girls are already complaining how cold it is. Sorry we weren't around when you got back. Went over to our old stompin' ground, Cocoa Beach for the day. Having dinner now and then off to the pool.

Thanks so much for sharing @snowmedic! Your set up looks great as always. I think having your pop up right next to your tent space really makes for the best possible spot, even if you had room for it in another location. The side table working with the picnic table looks like it makes for a nice workspace.

Now I'm considering getting an easy up :)

PS - Your daughter is adorable! I bet she sure is pleased with herself getting all her school work caught up before the big trip! I'm working on catching us up to week 20 by Dec 18 and then not starting back up until Feb 1. Some new school material just arrived for us in the mail today and here it is 8:30 on a Friday night and the kids are working on skip counting. Blessed are we to homeschool.

Enjoy your trip!

That's great @tiggerdad! I remember your gas cart and speed limit pic :) I had to laugh out loud when I saw your second picture. Good for you on the tweaking.

Thanks for sharing and enjoy AK.

I drove by your site around 9:00PMish on Friday nite but I didn't see any squirrel activity so I kept going. The site and the cart look awesome though. Maybe sometime later in the week. We will see.

Tiggerdad, that trail and bridge back to the Group Camping Area with all those identical rental tents is the short cut from 2000 loop. If you go towards the bridge but don't cross it and turn right, there is a big open space under the trees back there that runs behind 900, 800, and becomes the pet walk area, crosses the old FWRR bed and comes out near the start of 700 where garneska likes to set up on her trips.

Bama Ed

Ed, I assume you mean this direction?

I'll explore it further as the days go on.

I did get to meet Serenitygr yesterday evening. Great lady and family. The only problem was she was trying to drop hints to my wife about getting another crock pot. Serenity, please do not encourage her! We have had as many as 4 at one time, it took an act of Congress to get her to only bring one on this trip.

SouthAlabama5er,
Well, it was getting some attention from the other guests. Like when they had their hats blown off because some blurred dark shape with cobwebs all over it blew past them on the main stretches of road. I really have to watch myself and not give it full power. I feel like Captain Pickard and just want point forward and say "Engage!"

2Goofycampers,
I know, how embarrassing. Only 3 rounds. I would have hung my head in shame but my chin kept hitting my full stomach.

I went out walking this morning but not as much as I had intended. Was just too tired from yesterday so slept a little later than I intended. We are getting ready to head to Animal Kingdom today.

Great great pics Squirrel Man, I mean Tiggerdad.

Looks like everyone is having a great time.

I came down to the pool area so I could get some pictures uploaded, in order to be able to post them :) Right now Joe and our youngest (Scotty) are out on the Bass Nitro fishing excursion- I'm hoping he has an awesome time and catches some big fish! The other 3 were having a late breakfast, and may be coming down to swim soon.... I packed a couple suitcases this morning of stuff I know we won't be using our last 3 days- kind of a sad feeling.. As our checkout day gets nearer, I feel myself trying to pull everything here closer and closer to my heart....

Last night we had the chance to go on the Characters in Flight balloon at Disney Springs- I've tried for 3 vacations now to do it, and I was so thrilled to finally get the chance!

We got the chance to meet Tiggerdad and his family yesterday- absolutely one of my best trip experiences :) It's funny- 4 years ago- when we were planning our very first trip- names like Tiggerdad and Bama Ed were almost legendary in our home- they were such a HUGE help with so many questions we had back then. And now I feel like they are not just "names" but some have become friends as well. Joe said I get excited pretty easily, but you know- I guess sometimes Disney is like that- it's the little things that are most magical. So thanks , guys, for letting me become part of your group. :) I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the Sunday night get together will work out- not only do we have frozen hamburgers- we also have a ton of stuff for smores that we've not used, so we'll certainly bring that as well! Keep me posted!

Thursday we went to Clearwater Marine Aquarium, where Kody- one of our older boys- got to be "trainer for a day". He loved every second of it, and afterwards we stopped at a waffle house to eat supper, and I have to say- it was possibly the best meal of our whole trip! LOL It was nice eating a waffle without standing up in the kitchen making all the kids their waffles for a change! :)

KODY BEING TRAINER FOR A DAY AT CLEARWATER

CLEARWATER BEACH

Yesterday morning our other older son- Korey- and I did the backstage tour at Animal Kingdom- it was another awesome experience. And because he has such a love for animals it was really fun for him. When you go to Animal Kingdom before anyone else arrives, and really get to pay attention to the details for the park, instead of trying to not walk into people, it's truly a beautiful place. So much detail- even something like being able to hear the music without all the noise of the crowd really was a fun experience! Plus we were able to get some awesome pictures!

IN FRONT OF THE TREE OF LIFE

ANIMAL KINGDOM

Another fun thing we did was go eat at the Golden Corral. (can you tell we're tired of Disney food? LOL) We don't have any of those in MN near us, so this was a really fun experience for us- especially the chocolate fountain- who knew such things existed?? :)

AND HERE IS KOREY AFTER EATING AT THE GOLDEN CORRAL- READY FOR A NAP :)

Well- I think it's time to head back to the camper and see how the fishing went! I promise to post more Fort pictures later- I do have tons! Even another squirrel picture to show the Squirrels have followed us to Disney Springs- thus helping Tiggerdad breathe just a little easier back here at the Fort :)

Serenitygr, looks like you and your family are having a great time. It seems each time we visit WDW we say wow we have 10 days......wow we have 5 days....... wow we go home tomorrow. Its amazing how long it takes for the trip to get started and even more amazing how fast the last day arrives. Have a safe trip back home.

Tiggerdad.... thanks or the "backstage" pics of the Fort.

I'm glad you enjoyed the back stage tours. We have never done one, but always wanted to. Our next trip I'm determined to do the Magic Behind Our Steam Trains tour.

Thanks for the pics. And I definitely know how you feel as the trip winds down. It's hard to pull out on the last day without a tear.

Sirenia88, been by your place twice and nobody home. We'll cross paths at some point.

Looks like Sunday evening is a go for a dinner meet and greet at site 920. Seems Serenitgr and Snowmedic are free the same evening so we're gonna throw together some taco soup and have a big invite eating. Sirenia88, Benjyt, and any others who are here right now and I haven't met you guys are invited as well. We plan on being back from the MK around 5 so we'll plan on eating around 6-7pm so come on over. If anybody has any extra Fritos I could use another bag, otherwise I got plenty of tea, coke, mountain dew, diet DP, water, or Capri Suns so come on over. Let me know online or stop by this evening. We're staying around the site this evening except for some sporatic looping.

Fun day getting settled into our site, 105,at the Fort. Thank heavens for our neighbors in the 100 loop or we would have never fit. Lesson learned for next time go premium.
We have spent the day entertaining the lil one we the various modes of transportation available: boat, monorail and bus rides. Enjoying a lil football until time to watch the water parade and fireworks.
On deck tomorrow studios.

Hey Tiggerdad! Just got back from trekking to Magic Kingdom to get a carmel apple with the kids (how many times does a person get to do THAT?) and Joe said you stopped by! We will definitely be there tomorrow- not sure exactly the time but as soon as our Behind the seeds tour is done at Epcot we'll hop on the bus and head this way, and come right over! We don't have fritos, but should we bring over hot dogs/polish that we have left, and frozen hamburgers? If nothing else, maybe you guys can use them since we're leaving Tuesday morning.... See you tomorrow! Heading down to watch Cinderella tonight!

Tiggerdad..... you are a man with a cold heart. Teasing all of us still at home and work with your open invitation for fun, food and friends. On the serious side.....hope you have a great turnout. I did notice the omission of the Fort squirrels from your invitation. I'm sure just an oversight???????

Put me down for bringing more fritos.

Ariel, glad you made it in. Went looping around this evening but wasn't sure of your site number, will be around sometime to say hi.

The fort is starting to really fill up as the weekend gets underway. There are lots of GC, and not very many of them following the rules. (Not you Tiggerdad).
Have seen kids driving with a parent sitting next to them, some running the 4-way stop sign before you get to the loops, just past the unhook area. They don't even slow down to make a turn, had to get out of the way twice from them turning in so wide, you would think they where driving a tractor trailer.
Have seen a few with as many as 6 people in a 4 seat cart. And not very many of them give way for the larger vehicles.

Went by to see Sirenia also this evening, and nobody around. Site look good with your blowups.

More to come later, going to call it a night, have been going to DTD almost every night.
