Dis Old Fogies Clubhouse – Six of One, Half Dozen of the Other. Makes No Difference!

A busy Friday here, too tired to make dinner and got take out. Did an update and I'm feeding the cats and going to bed!

Ditto!

SC is having flooding rains. We have had a very early start to bushfire season here. :(
Eek! I wish we could send y'all some rain. We've had plenty.

Sadly, it's going to be a long season. The firefighter authorities are pretty grim at the moment; and El Nino is going to be strong this season. So, hot, dry and long summer coming up. We also have idiots in the community that have incendiary tendencies!!

It's raining, again. :faint: I'm busy working on things for the parish Christmas Market next month and beginning to plan our next Disney vacation.

At Universal with 2 of my kids this week. Very excited for Tuesday. My best friend is flying in and we will be driving back up with her to my house for a few days.

The latest for us is that my oldest has agreed to take some CC classes as a senior this year. He has some severe LDs so we are hoping this will go well.

DawnM, the report of caskets coming out of the ground is confirmed. One cemetery where this is happening is in Springfield, not too far from where my cousin lives. It's heartbreaking for the families. And there have been alligator sightings in downtown Sumter, and in downtown Columbia. I'm sure they're out in Myrtle Beach and Charleston as well. Columbia and many other areas had a curfew last night. They closed the roads going in to Charleston on Saturday night. Parts of the interstates around Columbia are closed due to flooding, and they closed a major section of I-95 from I-20 (Florence) to I-26 (above Charleston) for safety.

Two of my YoYo Sisters, my sister and her family, and my niece and her family live in the flooded area in Columbia, but are on high enough ground that for now, they're safe for now. I have rooms for them here should they need them. I used to live there too, and I understand that my old house is now flooded. I know of four friends who have lost their homes to the waters and one friend who lost a nephew to the flood. Please send prayers, pixie dust, well wishes, good thoughts, good vibes and positive healing energy to my beleaguered home state. And Columbia just buried one of their local police officers who was killed in the line of duty, a very good young man who I remember as a teenager.

We're OK. We had some minor flooding, but it drained off quickly. I'm west of the flood line and on a different river system with a different watershed. I'm just trying to go through the house to see what I can donate to my friends who've lost everything. I have an extra set of pots and pans in the box, blankets, towels, sheets, and some clothes earmarked for one friend. Another friend will get one of my Mom's old comforters and a set of dishes I was going to sell.

I'm good until I turn on the TV or look at photos on Facebook. This is the road I used to take home and is about 1/4 mile before I'd turn into my subdivision.

It is bad. Thanks for the update.

Enjoy! Have fun.

Flying by for a brief check in.

Sorry it's been so stressful YoYo, it's too bad some of that rain doesn't hit NorCal. Nice to hear people are pulling together to help each other during these tough times.

Bret, have a fun weekend at DL.

 Usnuz

PIO, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a mild fire season. As Usnuz said ours has been pretty rough this year.

Alison, your trip will be here in no time. I bet you're getting excited.

DawnM, have fun at Universal.

Looks like we've hit peak vacay period for the Fogies.

To those travelling, have a safe and magical journey.

Actually I think it's just Bret and I in the fogies, but KVC club seems to be at a peak high. I just woke up from a nightmare about not being packed.

Taking today off and resting. The people above us are SO LOUD (see my thread on "Do you ever wonder what the heck?") and my oldest has some special needs and I think we hit his limit for a bit. So, today we are taking it easy and then tomorrow will hit the parks again. Hopefully tomorrow will be less crowded.

Hi DawnM! I missed that you were at Universal this week, had to go back and read previous posts! Enjoy your day of rest.

A lazy Saturday afternoon here.
....ohhhhhh, NOT HERE!!!! I woke up at 7:20 and started cleaning my house <spotless> for a showing at 11:30AM...it was their second time coming to see my houe....I sure hope that they put in an offer.....
