Hi all,

We have a "First Haircut" package booked for my LO during our first trip in Dec. I was wondering if you needed to change your babies clothes after. I know when my husband gets his haircut he needs to change and shower because of all the little hairs but I think it may be because he gets buzzed. Wondering if I need to bring an extra (extra lol) set. Thanks!

It really depends. How much hair is he getting cut? They put the hair blocker on them so if your LO sits and doesn't pull that off he shouldn't be getting hair all over him or his clothes. Now if he may not sit through the hair cut or take the thing off it may get on him. I had my hair done by them and didn't feel like I needed to change or shower after. Fiance and friend also got theirs cut and none of us felt the little hairs.

We were very lucky to have all of our LOs first haircuts done at the barber shop on Main Street. They were between the ages of 11 months and 16 months. I didn't even think of changing their outfits! None of them had a lot of hair so I feel the woman who was doing the cutting was pretty much collecting what she cut to wrap in tissue and Mickey confetti for us as a keepsake. Have fun!

He has a head full of hair! I only want a trim and I think they use scissors, as opposed to the buzzer which creates a lot of little hairs so I think he may be good. Thanks!

Believe it or not, this is a photo of my daughter's very first haircut ever, and it was at the Harmony Barber Shop--she was a bit old for a first cut! This is now the only place where she gets a haircut--it's become our tradition. We go there every year, and we've watched many young ones getting their first haircuts. This barber shop does a wonderful job with the little ones, giving them toys to play with, along with lots of stickers. The babies seem to really enjoy the whole experience, and they get great haircuts!

It's awesome that you can book this ahead of time now! I remember with my first two we rope dropped the barber shop for the first haircut! :rotfl2: That was before SDMT and A&E!!

I didn't change my daughter's clothes; however, we didn't get that much hair cut. I had an extra outfit anyway so it wouldn't have mattered. She was two so we were still in the phase of take an extra outfit everywhere.

We never even thought about having a change of clothes for our boys. I am sure that hair ended up on their clothes during the cut, but the thought of bringing a change of clothes never crossed our mind and for us I don't think it would have been necessary.

This may sound crazy, but since he's still pretty young you could just take off his shirt shake it out and put it back on.

For DS at 11 months first haircut, he sat pretty still, and they did a great job cleaning off stray hairs, so we just kept going in same outfit for the day.

At 23 months haircut, he got squirmy & almost didn't let them finish (although they were great & very patient with him!), so he had some strays hanging around, as he was so done with the process by the time they were trying to clean him up.

I'd bring an extra change just in case.

It's so special though - you'll love it, with the keepsake hair and the certificate of bravery! :)

They'll give you the choice of scissors or buzz. They can do it either way.
