I came on to post this yesterday but was having problems getting on?

My new shiny shareholders card has arrived (nice new design with photo as well). I know there were a few of us who applied and bought shares around the same time recently, so just thought I'd share in case you are waiting on yours/want to keep an eye out for it.

I was quite surprised to find that they have put my membership date right from when I first purchased shares in 2012. This isn't quite correct as I did have a break from the Club last year. But, I'm not going to complain! :thumbsup2

Mine arrived yesterday too :thumbsup2 Did you get an expriy date of 2017? 2 years doesn't seem long. :confused3 Anyway pleased to have it and looking forward to hot chocolate in Salon Mickey in February :mickeyjum

The cards have always been valid for 2 years, then you need to renew it :)

Hi. What's this card all about?
pirate:

If you hold a certain number of Euro Disney share you can join the shareholders club which gives discounts and access to the shareholder lounge

micksn - as Nikki says, you have to renew every 2 years and this shouldn't be an issue as long as they don't change the goalposts for membership eligibility criteria. They are saying the criteria will change, but those currently in the club will be able to stay in. Hopefully they'll stick to that but it's a wait and see.

For info, you can actually go onto your shareholder space on the website and renew online I believe. You can do this 60 days from expiry I think. One to diary for 2017 :rotfl:.

I want to book a trip just so I can visit the Salon Mickey. My DD1 was sooo excited when my new card arrived :jumping1: and promptly said "We need to go back Mummy so we can eat those lovely pastries at Salon Mickey". Hilarious child! :rotfl2:

I read on the website that they are not taking new members, is that correct? Anyone know anything other than this?

We may buy 100 shares anyway as it looks like the stock is at a low. It would be interesting just to receive the communications.

They are in the process of changing the shares as Walt Disney Company is trying to become the largest stakeholder, therefore no new membership is being accepted and when they do start you will need to probably hold around 900 shares to become a member of the club. The shares do not pay anything out as the company is paying down debt

Hi, we made our shares up to 100 a couple of weeks ago, and they appear to be processing our shareholders membership. We've just been asked to forward a photograph as this is a new requirement.

If you have been a member before then you have Grandfather rights. Brand new members are not currently being accepted

markpysch - yes, I had to provide a photo as well and it's on my new card. I just sent one in on email so it was quite quick. I believe they introduced the photo as sadly some people were abusing the discounts by passing their cards on to friends/family to use in their absence.

I just got my new card, amazing service from the shareholders club took just about 2 weeks and arrived in the post today ..... Just in time for our trip Saturday! I'd let my membership lapse in 2014 as I only held 20 shares, called 2 weeks ago bought 80 more shares and was processed right away. So happy I got my card today as they informed me that they've stopped issuing temporary certificates as of 1st October 2015.

Ahh. Thank you. After discussing this (Shareholders Card) with my husband the day I posted, he apparently jumped right on the idea mostly just because we are everything Disney fans and bought a 1000 shares. Hopefully they will issue new shareholder cards before we travel there in September 2016. That would be so cool!

The club is closed to new applications at the moment until the recapitalisation process is complete. It is not known yet if the club will be accepting applications from new members or what the number of shares will be required if they do.
