Hoping to book a last minute trip in December. Approx 3 nights but nothing is available when we can go. Would take a studio or 1 BR...am I pretty much out of luck or do waitlists ever come through for a short stay in December?

They do, but it seems as though this year, we're not seeing many posts reporting waitlist success. I think more members (and renters) have caught on to the great time December is to visit WDW, plus more than a few have decided to fit in a last minute trip to catch the Lights. (This is the last year for the Osborne Lights at DHS). In addition, MS moved a lot of guests out of the VWL and that may have soaked up quite a bit of space.

I have been waiting for several months for a one-night waitlist to come through at the Poly for early Decermber. I've almost given up hope - but am waiting to see if the 30-31 day mark has any effect. Sometimes, if their plans aren't firm, members will cancel 31 -32 days prior to arrival to avoid the holding account.

So keep looking - and don't just depend on the waitlist process. Check yourself as often as you can. You might get lucky! :) Hope you find something!

Thank you for your reply! We ended up finding 3 nights together at SSR for Tues-Fri 12/15-12/18. We can swing it if needed but harder with my husband's work schedule and tougher for my mom to help with weekday school routines and homework. We also have a waitlist for Fri-Mon 12/4-12/7. I'm guessing the weekend will be more crowded than weekday but do you happen to know if early December or mid December is more crowded?

KEEP LOOKING! Very popular time with members to see the holiday decorations at the resorts. GOOD LUCK:wizard: and make sure you see the Osborne Lights for the last time!:sad1: SO BEAUTIFUL! :santa:

.....(snip)........I'm guessing the weekend will be more crowded than weekday but do you happen to know if early December or mid December is more crowded?

For the parks, the closer you get to Christmas (and the school breaks), the more crowded they are.

For DVC resorts, the first two weeks of December book up much more quickly than the third week.

My 1 night WL for POLY studio came through today for our December trip. Also, according to the RAT, there was a few days available in October, November and December. (This was earlier today, when I saw this)

In Dec 2013, I went in the hospital and cancelled my vacation 3 days before we were scheduled to arrive. It was for Bay Lake Towers

We are going Dec 2-7. We booked in July but had a concoction of AKV and SSR days as that was all that we could get at the time. I wait listed for SSR 2 bedroom and it came through. And then they magically combined them into one stay :-)

Good!

We were not going to go in December but when the news came out about the Osborne Lights ending this year we grabbed a studio at SSR for 12/14 to 12/19. We are waitlisted for a standard studio at BWV and we don't expect that to come through but, hey.... you never know. Hang in there...... magic can happen!

About a month ago I decided to go in December and found 2 nights at VGF and 1 at BCV, so you never know. I would definitely check myself, though, and not just wait for the waitlist to match.

Dang I've been waitlisted for a few months now, for our trip in December. No luck so far.
