Room for blow up bed

I notice the Portofino bay standard rooms are the largest with 450sq feet, is there enough room for a queen size blow up if chair is moved? Family of 5 needing more room with a resort with express pass, I have done this with a smaller blowup in hard rock standard room worked but pretty tight, I usually stay in the Hard rock deluxe 2 queen room that has a pull out couch, but it is sold out for our dates in April, Have also stayed in Cabana Bay and loved it during slow times, but in April we would like the express pass, and paying an extra $300 a day for the express add on is out of my budget, any suggestions would be great thanks

I don't see why not?
We were able to fit our Full/Queen in at HRH (between the bed and up under the 'desk'). In a bigger room, you should not have a problem.

The only problem I see is that the table can't be moved. It is fixed into the wall. My son slept on a roll away and it was just the right size to put between the table and window. A queen would not have fit in that space. I remember loving the extra floor space compared to RPR our usual resort. I didn't think those few extra square feet would make that much of a difference, but for the first time we weren't all tripping over each other. I never looked to see if a queen blow up would fit somewhere, but there was a lot of floor space. It will not fit between the table and window.

jtowntofl- never heard of anyone ever being forced to take a rollaway. We've had five in the room many times and they've never even asked if we wanted one. It had to be requested.

The Universal website indicates that to have 5 people in a room you must rent a rollaway bed.

That rule is not strictly enforced. If you request a rollaway you will be charged. We have had people use blow up mattress and some do the crash on floor with extra blankets. As long as you don't exceed the max room capacity you are fine.

To the OP.

Remember there will also be a $25 charge per night for every adult over the first 2 on the room.

I think the wording is just there to emphasize that there is no bed or pullout for that 5th person. The fine print says, " Maximum occupancies may require a rollaway at $25 per day. Only one rollaway is allowed per room, King Rooms have bedding for 2, requires rollaway for 3. Double Queen have bedding for 4, requires rollaway for 5. "

We have stayed multiple times with 5 and used a blow up, have never been asked if we need a rollaway, just wondering if the extra space in the Portofino rooms were actually in the living space and not in the bathroom or somewhere that would actually make the floor plan size basically the same as the hard rock rooms.

I have a question about this. I'm using points for Portofino Bay for 2 nights. We are a family of 5 and the site that I'm booking my points on will not let me add the fifth person but Universal's website says the standard room sleeps 5. If I can put one of the kids on an air mattress how do we cover the 5th person for the Express pass?

You can add the name a checkin, do not worry about it.

Like Bluer says...w had to do this once when the website was acting screwy. No problem at all to add/change names on a reservation at the front desk!
